Tom was always an attacking midfielder when he was an academy player he also scored a few goals, as is generally the case (Levi Sutton another) he became defensive cover when injuries force us to use him there.

My point is these players are probably on considerably less money then the players we have now but look equally as good.

Think it has to be small steps with many things to sort and debts to be paid before we can start thinking about the next chapter in our very distressing past.

We have finally got rid of the biggest crook (Hilton) and the man (Swann) who he knew would run into the ground for him, Michelle and her board have performed miracles in getting not only the club but the ground as well.

They now need everyone to keep doing what they are doing in supporting the club and hopefully the team can achieve their goal and win promotion to help bring more support and money into the club.

I for one didn’t think we would see Christmas games at GP ever again after Hilton basically cut and run leaving the club to die, so all the supporters have had a early Christmas present, so let’s be loud, proud and support the club tonight and every game they can attend to help drive us forward.

This is what happens when people who care run the club, there will be still many problems to overcome but we have got half way up the ladder to recovering the position we need to be in.

We could have a new name completely with a naming rights sponsorship deal! It seems to be the thing at the minute and would bring in much needed funds.

Are you sure? Thought the challenge on scales was dangerous and out of control a career ender if I ever saw one, kian was very lucky not to very seriously injured.
Also there was the penalty shout in the first half ignored it then gave a free kick 30 secs later for exactly the same challenge, but agree she did ok and was not the worst be a long way.

Never have understood this changing formation and tactics for away games! If it’s good enough at home then its good enough away.
make teams worry about us yes we have trouble breaking sides down when they pack midfield and defence but wingers running at people will always cause problems so let’s start going for it away.
Also don’t like this loan striker give the striker some support especially Whitehall as he doesn’t like playing this role and you can almost say we are playing with 10 men when we play this way.

Once again innocent people on both sides are paying the ultimate price in what will turn out to be another bloodbath, why can’t people just live peacefully and allow people of all colour and religion to carry about their own lives in peace and harmony.

I know for sure that the remaining directors are working day and night to find a group that will take on the club, there is a few whispers regarding this starting to circulate which may just save us.

When or if this happens we need a transparent group that put everything on the table and do everything they say, we also need a group that is supporter based to be allow on any future board of directors.

We live in a democracy where free speech is a right of passage and our grandparents fought and gave up the own lives to protect, But if you start to be abusive or slender people whoever they are be careful, social media can be great tool to get you point over! But it’s can easily become a platform for people to abuse each other.
My parents once gave me some great advise which was “ see all, hear all, say only what you can be sure is true” this as always been my way and I don’t believe anything until it’s verified, so don’t listen to gossips who spread these rumours and then hopfully no one can be put in the position some find them selves in today.

Are you Peter Swann? If not what is your agenda? And do you actually support and want our club to thrive! Everything you post is negative yes Mr Hilton as skeletons in the closet but we all do.

Lots as been said about the club being stale and needing fresh blood throughout with lots of people taking money for very little input, if Mr Hilton goes we are back in your hands! Oh sorry you have nothing to do Peter Swann

Well done to Jimmy and well deserved! But also I think we now have a coach in Andy Butler who has been there and done it at nearly all levels of the pyramid, knowing Andy though the academy I have seen his coaching levels and his man management skills which both are of the highest level.

Yes we have Chris Plummer as assistant manager who was a professional but he seems to be more Deans right man where as Andy appears to be a player based coach, professional players rightly or wrongly respond better to ex players which definitely appears to be happening, so all in all we now have a management team that is getting the best out of the squad.

Looking at the picture ogle is playing him on! But if you look at the video I think he comes back onside from an offside position before making the run which is clearly on by then, if that makes sense

I worked at the academy for 6 seasons and in that time it got worse every season, the offices were old and dated with very little in the way of equipment, the equipment standard got worse and worse, the pitches were a disgrace and an embarrassment.

The coaches and staff deserved so much more as in the end lots grass roots teams had better equipment and facilities, a professional academy is meant to be the best of young players available with better facilities and coaching.

It will be a long time before Scunthorpe United can produce its own players through an academy based system! As the funding isn’t going to be there and more to the point the way this has been handled will take many years for the confidence of local parents to trust anything that the club says.

I know lots of parents have said they will never bring back their child into a Scunthorpe United academy even if it restarted tomorrow, it is a sad day for the town and club as there was some really promising youngsters who are now going to be part of academies at Lincoln, donny, grimsby, hull and other academies within the catchment area’s.

Believe they had received only a faction of the £250-0000 so probably why they have closed it down now! Before they get more money from the EFL.

Hearing the academy is going to be closed and the player/coaches have been told to find new clubs immediately.
