Good to see youth team returning today. Full hi tech check up. Macdonalds fat meter, high jumping, swinging off bars possible eye chart check and colour blindness test .will stand them in good stead for a long season. Expect two weeks of being run ragged till they drop. Then spherical object introduced some might not be too sure what it is at first.lots of tippy tappy, keepy uppeys to perform.then pre season games different formations for every game so they get used to losing in any position they play. A week before season starts the loanees arrive ,billy nobody, but played five league games last season so has some experience, and guaranteed a start.the youths have ran their backsides off but their dreams are dashed.bad attitude creeps back into the squad. Same as it ever was, same as it ever was……

That’s the senior youth team and not the junior youth team then?
Have they all completed their summer homework?

Hill build must have hit some rocky ground, footings seem to be taking some doing. He doesn’t have the luxury of picking up players ,journeymen or budding youth from closer Lancashire teams.we have always struggled to attract players here, and now a non league outfit even harder.especially with no money.

The worry is now that KH is in exactly the same position he was for the final week in January.

Keeping himself in employment,I thought he was the man for the job as I have said before but I remember the Oldham game 1-0 up at half time this was to be the catalyst of our survival, second half ,Sheridan played the little midfielder back a bit and brought on a different striker. The midfielder changed the game ,he ran midfield,hill-on the sidelines just stroked his beard, sipped his coffee and chatted to the fourth official he seemed unable to work it out, obviously we lost and I expect the changing room to be gutted.I thought after that win Sheridan would have got Oldham out of trouble but something must have gone wrong there too.Don’t think the Scunthorpe- hill partnership will attract many players

Will need the U18s back because they may get 1st team action far quicker than anyone realised as they make 1st team matchday squads up !!

Looked through all the pictures and Mr Taft doesn’t appear to be on any of them rumoured to be on Grimsby’s wish list! The Taft let first came on loan was a great prospect but the Taft from last season I would gladly drive him to Grimsby myself.

The Cods signed Maher (check i got the name correct) from Halifax so maybe Taft isnt on their radar now ??.. in truth he Taft has been and still is crap.
The total lack of any updates and info from the club is a slap in the chops to fans especially those who have forked out for a season ticket already .. a few pics of player in a gym doesnt really cut it IMO.
Waiting anxiously for the flood of signings and then the NL fixture list coming out to see where the first few games will be…not that it makes too much difference , just hope we havent got Nil points after 5 fixtures played.

To be fair they did post some pics of players returning to training but I got more entertainment from some video clips of my local tier 9 team up to high jinx on their first day back training. Most supporters know them and it just creates more of a sense of ‘all in it together’. We don’t get that from SUFC comms do we
