Same posters expressing concern for the embryo and horses, but happy to support their “team” in the slaughter and starvation of thousands of innocent children and babies. Feel free to explain that with your faith and worldview.
Apologies for not adding any “humour”.

Some scorecardI’ve not read the full list, but does it include the 20% of pregnancies that end in miscarriage? Odd that lots of the Bible bashers shout so loudly against abortion, but would quite happily see capital punishment return. Hey ho.
April 16, 2024 at 12:23 am #284033I read the list too, 64. The deeds of this ‘imaginary figure’ recorded in a book which you give no credence to certainly seems to hold a fascination for you and others.
For what it’s worth .. and it won’t just be Gurney and Heath who think ‘not much’ ..here’s a few of my thoughts.
1. Being human is a terminal condition. Death approaches all of us. Christian, atheist and every other variety.
2. Those stats tell me that the view of God attributed to Christians, including in comments above, is erroneous. Contrary to much contemporary ‘Christianity’ He ain’t to be messed with. Along with .. even as part of .. loving what I know of Him; I have a strong awe and reverence for Him which has traditionally been called ‘the Fear of God.’ If wisdom is the orientation of an individual to live the best possible life in relation to reality then, as the proverb says , ‘the Fear of God is the beginning of Wisdom.’
3. It’s not a small thing to come into right relationship with this mysterious Being. Humanly speaking it’s impossible, beyond us, unless He graciously steps in and reveals Himself. Thankfully there is an offer on the table ..April 16, 2024 at 12:34 am #284034ps I’ve never ‘felt free’ to explain anything of my faith and worldview to you ,Heath .. at least not in recent exchanges.
And as far as your apologies for not adding any humour .. it’s fine. I’ve never seen you as a joyful individual and had much expectation of you eliciting a chuckle in difficult days.April 16, 2024 at 6:49 am #284035“I read the list too, 64. It holds no fascination for me at all, I use this to show the hypocrisy of those who follow the Christian bible preaching about abortion on here as being against gods “world view” not sure why some keep rattling on about world views either.God as described in the bible is a murderer,”not to be messed with”,like a mafia don
I would point out I was talking about animal cruelty and some religious crank jumped in to have a sly dig at me.Had that not happened I wouldn’t have had to mention some Christian hypocrisy and show this list, not hard to find information either, hardly shows a fascination to be responding to a personal attackApril 16, 2024 at 8:39 am #284040At last ..an actual engagement from you 64 instead of just posting provocative headliners and then keeping stum.
As for the above ..fair dos. You were concerned for animal welfare rather than taking it in the direction it went. But it WAS taken in that direction and that’s how things go with forums.
As far as ‘Christian hypocrisy’ is concerned I made some observations above. In many ways you WOULD be better messing with Don Corleone than the Biblical God. The point I made was that He is definitely not the fluffy, sentimental old geezer that is attributed to Christianity. Death comes to us all. How we die and when we die is important ..but the fact of death for all of us is still by far the biggie. I will await your response.April 16, 2024 at 9:16 am #284041It’s fair to equally point out that UK Christianity sadly gets mixed up with the far rightv US loons due to the overwhelming US bias of sites like YouTube,it’s fair also to say I know few Christians who think I’m the devil for my lack of belief nor I for their beliefs.
It’s once again fair to say, religion never comes up at work with people from any religion I work with.l,beyond worship we basically laugh at the same crap1 user thanked author for this post.
April 16, 2024 at 9:49 am #284046Aye, witness the loonies on here that are either prepping for the end of days or pontificating about truth while following wacky websites like World Net Daily and expressing admiration for the serial liar, serial adulterer and self-confessed sex offender standing to become the next American president.

You’ve never seen me, that’s true, yet you can judge me as an individual.
More like your attempt at humour wasn’t very funny was it.

The usual mixture of bile and made up nonsense from our resident hater. C’mon Gurney…. surely you can conjure up a post that doesn’t include name calling and flights of fancy. How about just joining in the discussion and treating others, even those who differ in opinion, with just a modicum of courtesy.

Sorry, Heath. You’ve misunderstood me. I wasn’t claiming to have LITERALLY seen you. I meant ‘seen’ metaphorically as in ‘the impression I’ve formed of you as a consequence of your posts over a protracted period.’ I’m a bit surprised that you seem so touchy about me voicing these impressions when your ol’ mentor Gurney regularly feels free to express how he ‘sees me’, often backed up by things I’ve never said or said by someone else, and at the end of his rant there’s often a little Thanks from his ‘Heathy.’
To be clear … the impression I’ve formed of you over a protracted period and based on your postings is of someone characterised less by humour and respect for others and more by frustration and hostility. I’m sure you were a bit more amiable in the distant past when we had some better exchanges. Maybe we could re-visit that approach to discussionsApril 16, 2024 at 9:07 pm #284084“Maybe we could re-visit that approach to discussions”.
Given the overbearing smugness of your “postings” and your dodgy “character analysis”, not much chance of a re-visit.
April 16, 2024 at 9:50 pm #284087I try not to react too strongly to the nastiness ..but am pretty able to handle myself in these exchanges and don’t see it as a virtue always to let some of the name calling and sweeping generalisations go. Its a big call for me because I don’t find it rewarding to be on bad terms with anyone. It sounds like you’re not inclined to adopt a more amiable approach .. whether because of perceived ‘smugness’ on my part or, just as likely, because you despise certain positions I hold. I think it’s a pity. Console yourself, I suppose, with the knowledge that I don’t come on regularly and don’t stick around to much when the toxic stuff kicks in.
April 16, 2024 at 10:09 pm #284089Funny how people twist things around and end up playing the victim, very Trump like.

Your posts often give away that, despite the fine words, you are a bit dim.
Did you really believe that I misunderstood you? Or the need to explain that you had not seen me?
April 17, 2024 at 8:24 am #284094Funny how people twist things around and end up playing the victim, very Trump like.
Oh Oh When the ‘big boys’ pile in with their wit and wisdom …I guess it’s time to leave.
April 17, 2024 at 10:38 am #284115Well it’s true JI, you do play the victim and nearly all your posts are about yourself, just like those of your infamous predecessor.
‘Dim’? Hypocritical? Just look above – you moan about a lack of joy then go on a rant about fear, death and judgement! Elsewhere you go on about truth, yet endorse those wacky websites. You claim to espouse Christian family values but endorse Trump and the far right!
And as for wanting posters to take seriously the cussed, prejudiced loonies on here – the end of days brigade, the WND fans and all the jonnies with their hypocrisy, manipulation and lies – if that’s what you expect, you need to look elsewhere.

April 19, 2024 at 8:57 am #284196We covered every hot topic of non-footy Bru here. All that is missing is Bucks to come along to talk about ‘so-called CO2 caused climate change’ not being a thing because environmentalists don’t talk about methane emissions from horse farts.
