I simply just think it’s boring as well and poor quality.

But you will sit and watch the utter shite served up at GP season after season….the irony!!!

I’ve had far more entertainment watching the fantastic Lionesses then I have from watching Scunthorpe United over the last few seasons.

I think one of the most over-rated things about football is the “quality” of the game played. Football is fun at any level, that’s the great thing about the game. And if the players are hopeless, there’s still plenty to enjoy.

For me, a game has to be competitive to be properly entertaining: watching the big money teams regularly swatting aside other Premier League teams is incredibly boring. Watching two North East Counties teams battling it out for a 2-1 win is much more fun, to me at least.

Totally agree, it’s about the competition for me too. I enjoyed the Counties games I saw last season far more than watching the Iron in recent years. I know a lot of male friends who love the men’s game but haven’t got time for the women’s game; their call. I enjoy it. Maybe next season Iron matches will be more enjoyable again now we might have found our playing level?

Women’s football is fine and stands completely on its own. Must admit I’m not entirely won over by the idea of watching women’s games in the flesh because of the fan culture – or lack of it. Even watching on TV, I find something about the TV coverage grating – so relentless positive & lacking in nuance. The game is perfectly good enough to withstand criticism, it doesn’t need everyone to cheerlead from the sidelines. Understandable though, I guess, given the battle the game has faced to get to where it is today.

But I feel sure that you could possibly enjoy both if you really tried

You shouldn’t have to enjoy anything, you either do or you don’t. There is one exception though and that’s this bloody club and I only try and convince myself I’m enjoying it because I have an emotional tie to the club….. “sometimes” regrettable but it’s there nevertheless.

I don’t have the same feeling towards women’s football due to having no ties to it. I’m the same with American Football and it’s stop start nature. I watched 10 minutes once and I instantly knew I hated the sport so not bothered with it since.

I suppose it’s simply down to what you like and don’t like.

Great win for the Lionesses tonight against Spain, under the cosh for a lot of the ninety minutes by a very good Spanish side and England will be disappointed with the goal they conceded but showed proper English spirit by grabbing a gutsy equaliser then winning it in extra time with a cracker from Stanway. Into the semi final with a brilliant attitude and good solid English football, well done ladies 👏👏👏

Another very entertaining game tonight, whats not to like about the way that the girls throw everything into these matches.

I thing Spain were a little unlucky and controlled a lot of the action, but our girls never gave up, and what a cracking winning goal it was, not seen one as good as that at GP for many years, well done the England team and management.

Why though was the Spain nuber 14 not brough on till near the end of the match, reminded me of a bit on Neil Cox management!!

It is very difficult to think of a more passionate crowd than tonights, they shouted the roof down all match, really great to hear them, and 100% of them really enjoying themselves, there was more from this crowd than any Englands mens game I can remember.

Thoroughly enjoyed last nights game, it had everything you want, 100% commitment from both teams, attacking football from both teams, ebbing and flowing scoreline, and a great strike for the winning goal and Spain really going for it for the equaliser towards the end, really good watch.

Brilliant game of football with 2 contrasting styles.

The crowed got behind the ladies and the lionesses delivered.

Watched it with my 14 year old daughter who absolutely loved it!!
if lots of younger girls and boys are watching and enjoying the womens game that has to be a good thing

Wow those Lionesses I mean just wow. After another sticky start against a really good side they grew into the game and took the lead with a very good goal by Mead. Second half they just took control with some great possession football, excellent passing and some amazing finishing. Great to see the veteran Fran Kirby score the pick of the goals with a proper accomplished finish. Well done ladies, will be cheering you on in the final at Wembley on Sunday. ⚽👏👏👏

    Beth Mead – wow!

One goal, two assists. Remarkable at any level.

Bring on the Germans/French. Nothing to fear now!

Well that was some performance by the ladies tonight agaunst a top class Sweden team.

Although possibley second fiddle during the first 35 minutes, the England girls took charge of things and over the last hour really outplayed them, the England team running out 4-0 winners, that makes it played 5 won 5 and 20 goals scored and just ONE goal against, really cracking match again, and the speed and long range passing of some of these ladies (of both sides) wasfantastic to watch, and once again some really fantastic goals scored.

Looking forward to Sundays final, and good luck to the players and management, after saying that, for Christ sake replace that bearded wonder of a manager of the England mens team with the lady that is leading this ladies set up, replace boring negative rubbish type football with entertaining skillful football that is enjoyable to watch.

Well done ladies you have done what the blokes could not and it was well deserved, a proper tough, physical gritty performance and not many teams win the physical battle over Germany. What a boost for women’s football and this will inspire more young girls to take up this wonderful game and enjoy it. Absolutely brilliant Lionesses. ⚽👏👏👏

Not only is the depth of quality a lot deeper in the men’s game, we also have an incompetent manager while the women have a world class one. Big difference.

Fantastic win and occasion. They did the country proud.

One thing I’m sure of though is that if the Lionesses had Nuttall masquerading as a women, sporting a mind blowing wig they would have been 6-1 up and wouldn’t have needed extra time.

    Only a slight issue though.

Who cares? We may be one of the few nations who take women’s football more seriously, but that’s damning of other nations that don’t.

We have beaten the best side in women’s European history today, and the first team to beat them in a final. Let’s celebrate that. We don’t need to compare it to men’s football. Of course the men would beat them; their biology makes it so. That doesn’t make the achievement any less valid or worthy. We have won the tournament, and it doesn’t matter about the difference between the sexes. We have a men’s game and women’s game because the latter won’t be able to compete with the men, so they can achieve. We should be proud that our country is one of those who have taken the women’s game more seriously (in more recent years, in particular) and the Lionesses have done the country proud. They did the country proud and that game was far more enjoyable than the Italy game last year. I felt they were far more willing to push for the win.

Three lions on a shirt. Jules Rimet still gleaming. No more years of hurt! We can drink it in tonight!

We don’t need to compare it to men’s football.

All I did was give reasons as to why it was a lot easier for the ladies winning than it was for the men due to the difference of the depth of quality.

Southgate is the biggest reason though. If the FA weren’t in love with him he would have been dumped before now.

Siderite I wasn’t rubbishing their achievements. I did say they did the country proud, they clearly did really well in winning it.

What more do you want people to say ?

    The girls done good !

“No more years of hurt” No chance the years of hurt is for the men’s game. The ladies done good let s celebrate their achievement as women in their own right and not jump on their bandwagon.

Great night in the flag-bedecked pub tonight even though it was almost an hour after the final whistle.

A very well done ladies, this is what England football has been missing, fight, skill, never give up attitude and just do not know how to lose. They were led by an excellent manager who has all her players giving 110%, not like the Englands men who are being led by the “the bearded wonder”, who just stands with his grim face looking into outer space, I wish the womens team manager was in charge of the mens team.

What a wonderful first goal of Englands, how many of the mens team would have shot straight at the German keeper, it was a wonderful taken lob, and never bettered for me in my 72 years of watching league football, and what a lovely sight seeing the England scorer take off her shirt and run round in front of the fans, nice pair of tits to!!!.

So a good night, and the Wembly fans really went wild, so did the team players and management, and even WonderGoals enjoyed the game even though he still had Nuttall on his mind!!!, just think, if Nuttall had that one on one with the keeper, would he have produced that wonderful chip?????????????????????????????????????????.

I see on the net this morning that the German press are crying that they were robbed, what a shower of pricks they surely are, they constantly roughed up the England players most of the game, and constantly riled our squad trying to get one red carded, it was they who are the cheats and bad losers, there were so many players in the England 6 yard box when Germany are claiming a hand ball, it was not podssible that a penalty could be seen, and VAR checks also reviewed the incident.

It is unreal that after the Germans are eight times winners that they cannot accept a defeat!!, in the past, they have had bigger defeats than last night, so get used to it you moaning twats.

Once again, well done ladies, you were brilliant, and really know how to celebrate a win, I bet there are a few sore heads this morning, the whole team gave their lot, and deserved their brilliant enjoyable win, the Germans should just accept that they will not always end up winning this compitition.
