Without strikers!!!
Lee.T sort this out asap because all your good work counts for NOTHING if we start the season with 1 recognised ‘bang average’ striker
The lack of recruitment up top is absolutely embarrassing and unacceptable!!!!!!!!

Spot on .. its a very worrying situation having one striker ..n hes is as you say average until proven otherwise.

July 30, 2022 at 1:11 am #241513Turnbull said that we’re to make more signings throughout January. I honestly think that we’ll announce new owners Monday/Tuesday and then we’ll sign strikers and actually pay fee’s for them.
Hill has probably been shunned by anybody half decent so is playing the waiting game until we have funds to be able to go out and get a few that will actually contribute.
That’s my thoughts on the situation anyway. Hill wouldn’t willingly go into a season with one recognized striker and one LB/part time striker if he had the budget there to get any decent one’s in.
I hope my thoughts are correct anyway.

July 30, 2022 at 6:59 am #241514It is only an educated guess but I reckon that the plan may well be not to waste any money at all on duff strikers.
There is certainly a sense that the club is on the cusp of changing hands. LT (and KH?) must surely have been involved in discussions with potential new owners. Would they have tipped him/them the wink to hold off and wait for proper funding for proper monies to be available for some real signings?
As speculation – this does make some sense. What other scenario would involve not even attempting to bring in some strikers – cheapo ultra longshots from pub teams 0r whatever?
July 30, 2022 at 7:36 am #241515Lewandowski obviously got fed up with waiting and signed for some 2 bit Spanish outfit. Ronaldo still holding out for a call from Lee?

July 30, 2022 at 7:52 am #241516In the big picture, the Butterfield signing is quite puzzling. Whatever the circumstances – he must be the highest paid by a large margin.
July 30, 2022 at 8:54 am #241519Turnbull did say he hoped for more signings, maybe waiting for Yeovil match when the media here to announce anything. Not much from hillbuild lately maybe get a match report from him today
July 30, 2022 at 9:00 am #241521You could probably write KH’s match report yourself now. It doesn’t vary much.

July 30, 2022 at 9:18 am #241523Just out of interest, rodwell has left hull, and Alexander has gone from Motherwell, were they both here at the same time. Just something to ponder on
July 30, 2022 at 9:24 am #241524Can’t imagine Rodwell is in a hurry to come back to GP, never heard a fan say a positive thibg about him and he constantly looked miserable to be here – Alexander was essentially a sacking.
Both curious timing but will eat my hat if either of them end up here.
July 30, 2022 at 9:28 am #241526I’m expecting the Loan Arranger to ride into town.
Expect a couple of Tontos from Championship/L1 clubs.
July 30, 2022 at 9:43 am #241527Rodwell could be part of the consortium if there is one and Alexander coming back with unfinished business to do. Hillbuild has been quiet recently,no doubt at five o’clock hillbuild will give his usual match report spiel and this scenario will be put to bed. Or? Are you going to get a straw hat😀
July 30, 2022 at 10:53 am #241532Well Lee said in yesterday’s update, and I quote,
“There will be more signings to come during August, which will add more depth to the squad.”
So, all is not lost as yet in terms of a striker.
July 30, 2022 at 11:05 am #241534I hope Rodwell isn’t part of any consortium, it’s always appeared to me that he has an awful habit of turning up at clubs who’s fortunes then take a turn for the worse or a period of turmoil coincidentally occurs.
On the striker situation, I hope wondergoals is right and strikers are announced at the same time as the takeover is completed, that would be great timing and would surely get the match day numbers up

July 30, 2022 at 11:13 am #241535Friday night BT vanarama season preview unveils breaking news at glanford park, consortium announced and Alexander reinstated as new manager, a car pulls into the car park bearing the plate KVV 1. July 30, 2022 at 11:33 am #241539Haha, agreed, but he can hardly say that publicly can he?
