Six match ban. Why lie about this?

Had he really been banned for life because of something he allegedly said, it would be a sorry state of affairs.

Besides, the FA can only ban him from playing here. A lifetime ban (which I’m sure has not been issue) would simply see him move overseas.

No he hasn’t been banned for life, no idea what the OP is on about.

BTW, usually FIFA will extend any domestic ban worldwide.

Just trying to get across the injustice between players and fans, if it had been a fan they “Would” have been banned for life. If we want equality it’s got to got to cut across all ways.

Fans aren’t deprived of their livelihood if they’re banned though, are they?

Plenty of workers have been sacked for homophobic and racist comments and lost their livelihood just because there footballers it shouldn’t make them exempt.Next we’ll be having someone saying footballers should get the vaccine before older people.

Personally, I don’t agree with life bans for anything or anyone, least not for first offences.

It is a shame some of the football coaches recently exposed did not get life bans 30 or 40 years earlier. There are some things that should get life bans for a first offence.

To be fair Awaywego makes a valid point. In my line of work if somebody accused me of racist or homophobic comments and I was found guilty…I’d be straight out of the door with my P45!

Agree with that sentiment. I think a year ban makes more sense though. Allow an opportunity for education and reform?

Generally agree that lifetime bans are quite draconian, particularly for first time offenders.

Only place I would like to see them is for performance enhancing drug violations in combat sports. I think if you put yourself in a position where you are fighting professionally and you cheat to gain an advantage where you could potentially kill the other person you don’t get a second chance.

That said I don’t think a 6 match ban sends a strong enough message. It’s often tricky as it’s usually a difficult thing to prove. Most cases it’s one mans word against another but when it is proven or admitted 6 matches is insufficient.

Your right Darren, quite obvious Rangers Kamara was racially abused but to hard to prove the way it was done, Deereys year ban would probably cut it with most so long has it was for both players and fans. One of the biggest disappointments for me was England not walking off against Bulgaria when 3-0 up would have shown the football world so much.

Let’s see what UEFA do about the Kamara case. Unfortunately not enough I’d imagine
