August 10, 2023 at 3:03 am #268892Casting my dusty old mind back when DH took the helm i recall him commenting with regard to how the club was being ran and how over staffed it was at the same time he confirmed there would be the stream lining of staff numbers and obviously redundancies.
Tough business decisions to make and with the closing of the academy , relieving some others of their duties and just yesterday sub contracting out the FnB gig at GP it appears to be keeping to that in an attempt to make the club sustainable focusing on the football to get the club back up the leagues ASAP.DH has my support in most departments alas not keen on his chosen SM route to keep fans updated when IMO this should be done in a more direct professional media manner via the clubs official website in the form of press releases and/or club statements “a message from the chairman” header… the club statement is widely used already for announcements and DH should use it for important news updates and to clear up rumours and confusion that blight the club at the moment.

Just get a pen and a piece of paper and list everything that has happened at Scunthorpe United since this January, the club is falling apart.
All the social media nonsense with face book and that Herbert character is just a sick sideshow.
I haven’t got a clue who he is or what he is doing but DH doesn’t have my support.1 user thanked author for this post.

Still not clear what this post is about. Is the club leaving GP even before the court hearing?

Well, apparently not according to DH and a large proportion of supporters on social media (Inc here). According to them (evidence suggests it’s really not 99%), it’s a about cutting our cloth and moving to a more sustainable model. And yet, a large proportion of supporters are not buying it and increasingly disappointed how things appear to be running and the manner in which ‘moving towards’ sustainability is being conducted, not least the daily PR disasters. So what’s really going on? What’s the truth? Is it somewhere in the middle?
August 10, 2023 at 7:32 pm #268978Don’t matter what the post is about we can run with it, for safety reasons it’s not quite so simple as just turning the utilities off, which will all come at a financial cost, Security, emergency lighting is a must and you won’t get away with not paying the rates. Who will pay all these monies.

August 10, 2023 at 8:09 pm #268984How many are a large portion of supporters?
August 10, 2023 at 8:51 pm #268985How many? Dunno. I did say on social media too. Aware I said ‘a large proportion’ in both sets, and that can’t be right. Maybe a ‘good number’ in each set would be more appropriate? That said, I’m still wondering where the truth might lie in this tangled web.

Spot on AA.
Hopefully, we will return.
Whose turn is it to lock up by the way?I was there for the opening ceremony game against the Football League X1 team.
Sadly I won’t be there on Saturday as I’m not in the UK at the moment. -
