Women aren’t baby vessels, they’re humans and treating them as a convenient baby production machine for brooding adoptee parents is dystopian. I have issues with surrogacy anyway, but this is something more horrifying. Strangely, it’s not far off the anti-choice Republicans who are doing something similar to protect the welfare of the fetus over terminally ill women:

I’d have more trust that anti-choice Republicans gave a damn about women if they didn’t continuously disregard the woman in cases like this. They simply don’t care and a fetus, no matter its sentience, outweighs the woman’s life in their eyes every time. That’s until the fetus is born, and it’s on its own, bucko.

The thing is that I wouldn’t be surprised if the people suggesting the solution for surrogacy like organ donation would be left wing. I am not saying this is a widespread belief on the left, but there is a warning sign there that maybe they need to consider it more when coming up with ideas. Getting many on the left to care about women’s rights when it comes to other issues can be like dragging nails on a blackboard.
