They were play off & NC Cup winners last season.

    I think it’ll be a tough game.

As we beat them 6-1 the last time we played them – I’d like us to have a convincing 4-0 win.

However, that is not my prediction.

Let’s hope they all get through the game with no injuries.

    Always important.
We want all our players & staff to be fit, healthy & injury free.
And, happy. A happy squad is important.

Not too concerned about the score but starting to get some clean sheets in these friendlies would be good. And a few goals. Still, if the team start showing some understanding between themselves and avoid injury, that’s all I’d expect.

Just get fitter game by game and maybe a better playing surface at Winterton tonight might see us grab a win, not essential but remaining injury free after the game is the main priority.

i know this is only the second pre season friendly so an injury free evening is a must, also as these fixtures tick by im hoping by late July JD will have a pretty solid idea of his starting line up best formation and and players in their best positions…

I didnt realize Evans was such a unit until saw the Brigg pics ..hes a big buggar.

Pitch should be better than at Brigg (Gunness playing field is better kept).. therefore hoping for a more flowing game.

Winterton pitch always seems to be well cared for.

Barrie Thomas and the WI cut it with scissors twice a week.

Apparently a new record crowd for a Winterton Rangers home game. Beating the 1978 friendly against Sheff Utd, ‘Rangers had won new floodlights in a six a side competition. UTWI

Any chance of knowing what the lineups were?

    Fitzsimmons

    Barrows
    Koughan
    Evans
    Kelly

    Roberts
    Clunan
    Scales
    Butterfield

    Elliot
    Whitehall

Not going to get too over excited like a few but it wasn’t a good watch. We struggled to put passages of play together and it became reminiscent of years gone by where we went through the motions.

Winterton didn’t sit back either and had a few chances, a number of players impressed including a 40 year + Lee Ridley who dominated centre back

The main problem tonight is the optics don’t look great. We are club that desperately needs some confidence and starting this season well is crucial. Dean doesn’t need extra pressure on himself and the players, and all tonight has done has increased that for the team.

As I thought, a tough game and exactly the score I’d expected.
As I’d previously said, they’d beaten Gainsborough Trinity 3-1 in their previous game.
    Reality check?

    Another difficult season ahead.
Perhaps people will now realise that?

Exactly and today they won a meaningless friendly, some people just don’t get pre season.

You’d think we’d scored against Man City in FA Cup Final, judging by some of the goal clips.
