I see he scored 2 belters today for the youths, composure in which we lack throughout the 1st team squad. Gallimore also had a really good game.
Why Wilson in particular has been frozen out is anybody’s guess. Cox has properly messed up with him.
Pugh’s been frozen out as well as far as I can tell.
October 2, 2021 at 9:58 pm #214602I’d rather see these young lads given a go over the anonymous loanees any day of the week; however let’s be honest, it’s not going to make a blind bit of difference. They will get steamrollered by most league 2 sides.

October 2, 2021 at 10:23 pm #214604I still think with a clued up, able manager we’ll be a lot more steady. This team has no structure whatsoever.
This team has no identity, it’s listless. That I put down to Cox, as somebody said on twitter earlier.
What the hell does Cox , Lillis and the other coaches do with the players in training ?
I can’t even see what they’re being set up to do, they look absolutely clueless.
As a bare minimum a half decent manager is supposed to apply some structure to their team and I can’t even see any in ours.
Honestly, he really needs to go. We need an experienced head here. I know they don’t grow on tree’s but we need somebody to improve us quickly.

October 2, 2021 at 10:39 pm #214606I agree, it gets more embarrassing for Cox by the week.
But even if someone squeezed every ounce of potential out of these lads, I still don’t think we’d finish much higher than 20th. They are just not good enough and it’s a chronic lack of investment from Swann towers.
Remember, we finished 22nd last year with Eisa, Gillead, Van Veen, Mcgahey, Bedeau, Clarke in the team. I honestly think this lot could finish below 30 points and we won’t have anyone score above 5 goals.

October 2, 2021 at 11:02 pm #214607But when you have such a poor squad of players with no quality or even basic skills what so ever, added to a clueless team of management as Cox, Lillis and Mussa, plus an owner that hasn’t even got the interest to even attend, what are the chances of things taking any shape.
I feel for the 4 to 5 thousand fans that have supported and the 2,300 that still remain followers of our team and still follow them all over the country. I am 80 years of age, and my following days are over, but I feel for the guys that should have many more happy years as a fan of SUFC in the football league, they are the one’s that do not deserve to be the victims of Swanns errors and selfish failed plans. It is a wonder that he can sleep at night if he just looks back to what halm he has done to our club.

October 2, 2021 at 11:16 pm #214610It’s an absolute disgrace he’s not in the team as well as Pugh
We have no width and no bite in midfield yet these two offer both!
Add in the two last minute loan signings in midfield positions we didn’t need to strengthen using up the budget up which should have been saved or used elsewhere!
Just more examples of how appalling Cox is as a football manager… he’ll never manager again at this level!!!
I would be happy to bet a lot of money on that!!

We needed one CM at the time because Perry was injured as well as Kenyon who’s picked up yet another injury. Wood would have been ok but we didn’t need Hackney as well.
I’d much rather we signed a LW or a mobile, nippy striker.
All Cox has ended up doing is freezing Pugh out and even Hippolyte who’s looked dreadful outwide played his best football in CM and he fecked all that up. Torn that up and started fresh when we looked like we were starting to turn a corner.
Wilson has been shockingly ignored. As I’ve said many times before, Cox and Lillis both need to take a run and jump. I know Cox has been through a tough time of it but he needs to admit he’s just not up to it and walk away, same with Lillis.
Lillis was dragged out of a care home and he’d been out of football for I don’t know how long. Cox i would say is worse than Wilcox.
Wilcox was boring as hell and was ultra defensive but the team for the most part could defend and least had some kind of shape and organization. Cox hasn’t even drilled that side of the game into them, they’re all over the place.
This is 2 near different squads he’s had now and he’s failed to get his points across to both. Bad management.

October 3, 2021 at 8:00 am #214615Would Cox the manager ever have picked Cox the player? I doubt very much he would despite the obvious potential.
For a club stripped of its assets the only thing of worth are the players under contract. Out of the current squad I would say we could maybe command a fee for two in yesterday’s squad So todays muddled management is we are going with youth – just other clubs youth

October 3, 2021 at 8:56 am #214616When commenting about Mark Lillis, what input is he allowed ?
Cameron Wilson, Tom Pugh, Dan Gallimore are all good enough. Mr Cox says Scrimshaw is a willing runner, why not give one of our own ‘willing runners’ the chance. Still sticking to the format of selecting the same failures who aren’t interested and putting them in a formation for targeting that does not work.
Recruitment season on season a joke, but they know that. Mr Vose was the 1st example.

October 3, 2021 at 11:21 am #214626When our own players were in the team/squad there seemed to have been a togetherness and a certain amount of commitment. Since the loanee players have come in that’s gone. What does this tell you Scunthorpe Nil hierarchy.for God sake sort this mess out before it’s too late.
October 3, 2021 at 11:52 am #214631BFB makes a very strong point – one we have become all too familiar with in recent seasons.

You saw the effort he put forward when Cox was away on passionate leave. That was the most baffling game I’ve seen. I’d even stretch and say it was bizarre, nothing made a blind bit of sense.
If that’s what Lillis puts forward under his own volition, I’d hate to know what he’s up to with Cox when both are here.
Jesus Christ !
