Are we any closer to ending the mire, curse whatever you want to call what’s been happening at the club for years now, taking Swann, Hilton all the managers out of it, in the 1st 2 games we’ve shown how poor we could play in this league and that could end in relegation again we were that poor at Tamworth, yesterday should have been a 4/5 goal win and we managed to turn it into a draw with consummate ease, most of us will agree that we’ve got a excellent squad and nothing should be there to stop them succeeding but after 2 games who bloody knows, next installment up Tuesday and I haven’t a bloody clue where we are.
August 13, 2023 at 12:44 pm #269287Surely the first ten games should be some kind of yardstick not the first two? Disappointing result yesterday after dominating for long periods and playing some nice passing football at times, dont disagree too much with the managers comments I read on the website this mornig TBH.
August 13, 2023 at 12:46 pm #269288Decent enough squad for the league we’re in but if they are being managed by a pub team manager…………

August 13, 2023 at 1:04 pm #269292Don’t worry. Darlo can’t score goals and can’t defend. Can’t see you messing this one up even with managerial question marks.

Jimbo didn’t miss any of those sitters.
Anyone notice him giving Whitehall a bollocking Guardiola/Haarland style?

If it can be messed up we’re the club to do it!! (Based on recent seasons)

Naw, Haaland got a bollocking after scoring two goals, Whitehall missed a penalty and several sitters, he’s just perfect for us.

How can somebody that doesn’t attend games comment on the Managers or Players?

August 13, 2023 at 1:33 pm #269306Wanted to keep the mangers out of it like NI said he wasn’t on the pitch, All I’m saying is can really the current squad takeover the malaise on the pitch just like that, we can all agree it’s not coming from the crowd, but fitz again yesterday couldn’t hide it again shaking his head walking off that him twice in two games,
August 13, 2023 at 1:36 pm #269307Lots of players at lots of clubs walk off after a game shaking their heads Awaywego, behave and post something meaningful.
August 13, 2023 at 1:43 pm #269311post something meaningful.
Oh the irony Iron-Bore.

What will happen when we come up against the ‘stronger’ & ‘better’ teams in this league?August 13, 2023 at 9:23 pm #269343As I saw it yesterday JD made the mistake of taking off Wilson who was getting behind their defence and running them ragged and creating danger and chances and taking off Whitehall too. After the substitutions we gad no threat of attack, as if he was trying to just run the game down. A pathetic thing to do if that was his idea against a very poor side.
August 13, 2023 at 10:59 pm #269344I think in fairness to JD the Whitehall substitution was to change things round up front because after the penalty miss ( which was a poor one and the follow up tap in he blazed over was even worse ) he just became poorer by the minute. Several missed chances and falling over his own feet when put through to score didn’t give the manager much choice, he had to change it.

A fortunate away win on the first match day followed by only a draw (against a poor side) this after dominating and crating numerous chances to win at a cantor PS must be one of the mid to lower mid table outfits in PS doesnt and this doenst bode well for us when facing some of the more higher rated teams where terrible finishing and or having an off day will cost us deary and end in a defeat.Even at this early stage its pretty obvious that this notion of pissing the league is folly.

August 14, 2023 at 7:33 am #269354On the bright side, only better finishing needed and a bit more urgency
August 14, 2023 at 8:43 am #269357I fear that a better striker needs to be added to the mix or …

August 14, 2023 at 10:35 am #269369We’re a fully professional side with quality players,up to now we’ve played against 2 teams who have played with 2 fat boys in their team and are part time for gods sake, whoever the best teams supposedly are we should be at least on par with the team we have, don’t think anyone could argue with that, it’s 2 games and that’s why I started the thread and the malaise is appears to be have inherited, hoping against hope that one really good win and finally the nightmare will be over I really do hope so enough is enough.
August 14, 2023 at 12:28 pm #269377August 14, 2023 at 1:02 pm #269385Where have you seen the progression? I’m optimistic but just saying it ain’t started yet,
August 14, 2023 at 1:07 pm #269386First 30mins on Saturday. A lot better than the 90mins at Tamworth from what I read about that one. I’m trying my hardest to be optimistic here. It’s actually killing me!
August 14, 2023 at 1:08 pm #269387I think we have seen some progression. Against Taworth we won an away game without playing well. Something we have not done for a long time.
Against Peterborough Sports we had more possession of the football than we have had probably for 5 seasons.
Ran out of ideas on what to do with the football but it’s a start.August 14, 2023 at 1:20 pm #269390Sorry I didn’t realize you meant this season, like I said sat was a win by 4/5 goals and that’s being nice to Peterborough “Will it ever end”
