AB has seen the errors of his ways with the 5 man defence nonsense. He has changed the system and we are doing well. However he still has to learn when something works don’t change it. The last few games we have been in control, got ourselves in front then the second half starts.! The teams settled and then the 5 man substitution starts, completely changes the team and we end up struggling to hang on to the lead. Last match we ended up with 7 defenders on the park and hanging on for grim death. The odd change is ok but 5 absolute barmy. Giving people game time is only acceptable if you are 4 or 5 up.
There’s me thinking that in our previous two games we had secured points with second half goals from substitutes.

“you can prove anything with facts”
I thought the last 2-3 substitutes on Saturday were to break up the rhythm and momentum of Scarborough.
76 mins onwards is when we score but also concede most goals per segment:
Away from home, it is our most successful period in goals scored and fewest conceded.
At home, the same segment is still our most successful but we ship a lot of goals too. 9 scored in the segment and 6 conceded.
Perhaps it’s best not to make defensive minded / ‘negative’ substitutions in the final segment?
Atletico get the job done in the last period of games:
Is it raining out your way?
I don’t think we were hanging on for grim death Saturday, I thought we managed the game out very well but we all see things differently I guess.
I agree. We would have won 2-0 if not for a wonder strike. Not much to do about that beyond not committing the foul that caused the free kick.
