Given how fed up most of us are with the team & club at the moment, given how poor the football has been but given it’s a derby, I’m curious to see how many posters on here will definitely be logging on to watch the game tomorrow.

I probably will, most likely for the last time in a while if it’s anything like as bad as some of the recent games I’ve watched.

I will watch as I’m in quarantine in a hotel and nowt else to do.

It will be my last time so hopefully they at least play a game that resembles something on the line of football. What we’ve witnessed for majority of the season is totally unacceptable whatever Swann thinks to the mess he’s made.

How many would turn up at GP on this showing without wanting blood.

Barrow was disgraceful. I want a fully charge Eisa and Gillead on the wings, A midfield with drive, a solid defence, A keeper that can keep and move like he hasn’t got lead boots, A captain that inspires the team and hands out bollockings and leads the team rather than being a mouse.
And a forward line that’s going to scare the shit and rag the codheads defence around.

And A Cox that plays a formation that gives his team a bloody clue of what they are supposed to do.

Is that too much (yes) and will we even get 50% of the above?

I will watch because I am a season ticket holder, but am not paying anymore tenners until we start to improve and play entertaining football.

I will watch but only because I have a season pass for iFollow which I have had for 2 or 3 years because pre-covid I used to work abroad quite a lot.

If I had to log in and pay a tenner I probably wouldn’t bother.

Can’t believe I am saying this for a derby match but given the team have not turned up for the last 2 derbies then why should we bother.

It’ll be my last one for this season I think if we don’t see a massive increase in effort.

    I am a 12th man and I will NOT be watching !

Being treat with contempt again, so why bother. Really feel for those players who get zero opportunity yet some senior pro’s seem to have ego’s & tantrums and certainly no interest get selected time and again.

The forgotten faces would battle those that should know better can’t be bothered.

Some interesting replies. It struck me on the podcast when Swann said something along the lines of how great it would be if fans were allowed in to see a game in front of 6,500 fans that he was being a bit optimistic. I’m not sure there’d be many more than 5,000 if this was a “normal” game given the way both sides have been recently. Maybe I’m wrong.

I’d say even if we manage to scrape staying up and assuming everything is back to normal for the start of next season we will struggle to get 2000 for the majority of games next year.

I won’t be watching and haven’t watched any I-follow matches period. The whole point of being a fan is to watch live games in the ground, where we can sample the atmosphere, catch up with football mates we see on a regular basis and just generally enjoy the match day experience. I have no intention of watching I-follow ever but I may dip into Blunderside to hear the worst, I actually like Mike White and Tom Newey giving their account of the games. Can’t see us winning and I was right about McGahey not being fit after last week’s game at Barrow, should never have played in the first place. Returning after a hamstring injury with no proper practice games played and just training with squad!!! Bloody stupid Cox and you know it.

Only a buffoon places a player that has had a hamstring injury straight back into the line up as at Barrow as you stated IA.
If KVV story hasn’t got through to them all then god help us.

I’ll be watching as I have done all season as I have a season pass. I used to be really nervous/anxious when watching games but after last season and this I literally don’t care anymore. If we concede and lose to the likes of Barrow it’s more of a wry smirk and sarcastic laugh that comes out of me now, rather than the pure anger/disappointment that it used to be. Which is quite nice as my weekends are no longer ruined when we lose, it’s just expected.

If we lose i may not pay for away games anymore, but i find it odd that so called fans of our club haven’t watched a single game all season and yet regularly pop up with comments on this forum.

Random,It’s so called football fans like you who have ruined football for many by paying to watch football on TV. Ironawe has explained nicely in his post and I concur.

Open hearth, some go back as far from when we sold Barrie Thomas, doesn’t make them any less of a fan though.

How the hell is Random ruining football, when he doesn’t have the option of watching the game at the ground???

If a fan can also be described as a supporter then it seems logical to me that a fan who gives the club £15/£20 a fortnight, or £10 online as it is today, is more of a supporter than one who doesn’t. By definition the one who doesn’t is less of a supporter.

    Nail.
    Head.
My wife used to watch the results to see what sort of mood I’d be in when I got home from games.
If we lost it spoiled my weekend.
    Now I just don’t care.
Sure, I still would like us to win, but if we don’t I just shrug because it’s now what we do, isn’t it?

Thanks Heath if i could go to the game i would and i have paid for a season ticket. I also pay to watch the away games as their little else to do at the moment. In normal circumstances i would go to maybe 5 away games a year but a lot of that is down to having a family, when i was single i would be at the game every week. What i will say is as long as i can afford it no matter how bad scunny are i will always go to the home matches as i am a fan.
One last point i understand the whole paying for football on TV annoys some people but ifollow are providing a service and someone has to pay for that, remember approx. £8 of that goes to our club.

Don’t agree that watching online makes you less of a supporter. Especially when it’s either that or don’t watch at all? That makes no sense.

Before all this shit I would attend home games and watch away on online. That way I got to watch all the games. Meaning I’m ruining football for those who chose to only attend the home games or those who chose to listen on the radio? I don’t have the time or the inclination to travel all over the country.

The issue now is as others have said. When we used to lose then Saturday night was spent annoyed/angry.

Now? I expect us to lose and find it hard to care since no one at the club appears to, so why should I?

I said before the shit we’ve been served for the last several years has destroyed my love of football outside of Scunthorpe. And it’s slowly killing that as well.

What am I supposed to be supporting?

Does that make Swanny our biggest fan and supporter then?. Of course not he’ll never be a fan or supporter you can’t buy that, he’s just a man with loads of money who’s funding our club at the moment.

I’ll wake up tomorrow and start feeling a bit nervous pretty well straight away and this will build gradually. Come 12.30 I’ll be wondering if I should get the Credit Card and Log On ‘to be on the safe side’ and to see if there’s anything going on. I’ll resist that and lock myself into the den at about ten to. If we lose I’ll be really fed up and won’t have pleasant thoughts or feelings when I first remember what happened when I wake up on Sunday morning. I’ll look at the League table and hope that McGahey and Kevin are going to be back soon and will stay fit and perform well and that Swanny is going to cough us up an experienced and motivated goalscorer to save us from our misery. But if we win!!! I’ll look at the table to see how soon we can get to mid table and how feasible a play off push might be and things will look alot brighter….. And then the next game will come along.

Hell Sanfran, I was shocked when you said that you were 12th man, I thought for a minute that
you would have been on the bench ha ha!, although you would probably be an improvement on Turan, Loft and Hippolyte, and you may do better if put in goal, at least you would come off your goal line. I was just thinking mate, although we do not pay extra with being season ticket holders, I am actually paying double this season, with also paying for all away games as well, and actually paid twice for one home match, when not entering a code number, just think, paying double for a Scunny match, but calmed down when the bank statement came a few weeks after the match. I was just thinking Sanfran, you woulsn’t last long if you were playing, two yellow cards for mouthingthe ref and linno!!!

” … this has destroyed my love of football outside of Scunthorpe.”
    Yup. Me too, DSGM.
Fortunately, no damage done to my love of cricket.
By the way – dunno how many have got Sky Sport.
    Expensive, innit?

PS. If you are able to play it – then use the old fart card.
I rang ’em up about my £56 pcm package a few months back and told ’em I was too old to afford it and was going to have to cancel.
Whaddya know? – Am now paying £26 for the same. Smile.
