Suggestions for who you want as the next manager? I have to be honest, I don’t really know who can stabilise this complete mess at the moment. In my opinion I don’t really think it matters who the manager is, I just don’t think this squad is good enough for L2. All well and good sacking yet another manager but the mess has come from the top of the club. Peter Swann and the board have to take responsibility for the complete mess of the last few seasons. Horrendous decisions throughout with no real clear vision or plan IMO. I have NEVER felt so low about our football club in the 20 odd years that I have supported it. I really hope to be wrong but I can’t see anything other than relegation happening. This really is the last roll of the dice. If we end up out of the football league, I will find it really hard to believe that we will ever comeback.

Add another 26 years mate and I agree about the lowest point.

We need somebody who wants to play attacking football and gets the players to go out onto the pitch without fear of defeat and lets them play.

We ain’t done yet!!!!!…. and like the mob down the road who blindly and lovingly followed Hollowbrain into the abyss we haven’t done that with Coxy even though he is one of us.

I would support any manager who gives it a go and we might as well go with a bang not a whimper.

    Up the Iron.

Would be great to see Nige come back. I doubt he would even if some bookies had him as favourite earlier on.

If he did then Swanny would have to agree to quite a few conditions to oil the wheels.

Agree – I think this is the last throw of the dice from a desperate man who has backed himself into a corner.

This will go one of two ways; Swann will appoint from within, and not provide any new cash to strengthen the squad or, Swann will appoint an experienced manager, sort out the EFL loan, and then provide some £££’s to strengthen the squad in Jan.

If Swann opts for the first choice then we are nailed on certainties for relegation this season, likely followed by administration shortly after. If he opts for the second choice then it is likely that we will retain our league status, some of the missing fans will start to return, and we will start to amass debt again.

This is a right f*cking mess!!

Where do we go from here?
Same place as we were always going this season: out of the league.

Probably one of Will Swann’s buddies from playing football manager online.
    Loads of experience….not.

A lot has been said over the years about Keith Hill, well maybe now would be his time here, experienced in leagues one and two, worked most of his football life on a small budget and certainly turned out some very competetive sides over the years with very little to work with. If Swann for once in his life allowed the next manager to just bloody manage the way the manager wants, then Hill may just turn things round but Swann must provide help in January and sort this bloody EFL loan bullshit out. Not holding my breath, the lucrative redevelopment of the GP site could well still appeal more to our wonderful chairman then saving the club.

Out of the list of candidates, if it’s not Keith Hill then Swann has signed our death warrant.

Even then it’s a case of if he has enough time, and money in January.

I expect the cheapest option and the supporters getting the blame

Apparently, he has done his bit by sacking Cox – and the missing 1,000 fans MUST now return.

He’s only done half of the necessary, appointing the right successor will/might get the fans back.

Aye les that’s what it sounded like, knew it would be the fans fault, the guy just pisses me off big time he just doesn’t want to accept responsibility. On the question of 2000 gates, how did Accrington get promoted to league one on something similar, also they barely got 2500 when they were in the top three, we would be up around the 4,500 to 5000 if we were top three. Rubbish chairman just bloody rubbish as per normal.

I heard the same Les – quite astonishing – also referred to out of business not just out of the league. Also said he would put money in so the club would not get relegated – so clear messaging once again

Swann thinks that the 1000 less fans is all down to performances but despite the bad performances a lot of fans saying that it is due to the issue of Coolsilk taking the land into their ownership and the Chairman.
He just can’t understand it !

We will have to wait. Could possibly appoint by saturday then the new person could watch the doncaster game. Has 31 games whoever it is.

Do we go experienced if so why are they unemployed ? Do we go for a No.2 looking for their 1st No. 1 job ? Or do we look at someone from non-league who wants to make a name as they rise up the leagues ?
A conundrum that is of the chairmans making.

Who do I think could do it Michael Flynn – always thought good for us, Andy Crosby – disciplined and an organiser and knows what this club is about, Cliff Byrne – wants to win every game and again claret & blue, many of the other names not for me as most have had several failures so why would it work this time.

One thing we did find out is that we are still within our playing budget and funds are there. Until January it would be free agents. But in Mr Swanns interview on humberside tonight it is still my fault because I am staying away.

Certainly I feel very sorry for Mark Lillis, he was not as involved as many think and I understand it was not his choice !

We will see what happens, certainly november will a big month.

I would like to see Tom Newey as the manager, but doubt he would give uo his job as a teacher to come to Football management, but although an ex-player, I would like to see someone new to the Scunny sceen, but I like to hear Toms assessement of things, although his downfall to me was his praise of Cox, he always had good things to say about him, but football knowledge he seemed spot on.

I would like to see Tom Newey as the manager

Couldn’t think of anything more silly. Newey gives good analysis during commentary, post and pre match but has no experience in management.

Our league existence literally is dangling by a thread, we need somebody who’s managed before and who’s gotten teams out of the shit before.

This is our last chance now to hopefully saving the season and that starts with appointing the right manager for the job.

Keith Hill, Adkins and Paul Tisdale are the 3 I’d choose between.

Difficult to pick between Hill and Adkins. Hill has been in similar positions before and done the business where as Adkins will bring his positivity and undeniable enthusiasm which may breath life into the club so torn between those two.

Tisdale has a decent enough track record so he would be 3rd choice for me. Anybody else signs and Swann goes the cheap route, we may as well not bother for the rest of the season.

My £10 is already on us for relegation.
I don’t care if there’s a second coming and JC takes the job.
We’ll need more than one miracle to avoid the drop.

What odds did you get Alky, probably about 1/10, giving you £1 profit, not good but if you bet on near certain happenings !

Our only chance is to bring in a good motivator/organiser and hope that we can squeeze enough points out of the current squad to keep us in touch by the transfer window. Then, Swanns’s going to have to splash the cash. Pay off the EFL loan and bring in some quality to enable us to pull clear in the second half of the season. Will it happen? Nah
