Always enjoy catching up on the Ashes highlights on iplayer after the 7pm screening, but today’s fabulous climax of the 3rd test isn’t up yet. Really enjoyed Test Match Special on R5X earlier but not yet on iplayer is a big let down. Boo!!!

Watched it last night DM no problem around 7pm, it did keep buffering a bit but saw the whole joyous highlights from start to finish of a brilliant 4 th day. What an entertaining brilliant advert for test match cricket this series has been so far and I’ve sat on that Western Terrace before when England play Australia, what an atmosphere, best cricket crowd for me.

Great stuff Heath. I know someone who went yesterday. I was jealous!

If I’d have known the highlights show wasn’t going to be uploaded till today I’d have tuned in at 7pm I-A. Still, it’s up now so I’ll enjoy it later ☺

7pm is the broadcast time I-A. Maybe why? I could have played it live via iplayer at that time (i do that with MotD – usually start it just after the programme starts ) but didn’t and when looked at 10pm as I do most days, it wasn’t there. Even checked my bbc app on my phone and it wasn’t listed. Thought it might be a SKY instruction? Who knows?

TBF to your point, the second test I never saw the last days highlights of that one, the previous days play was and I believe still is up but not the final day, all a bit strange but very annoying. Hey ho as long as you keep waking up in a morning anything else is a bonus I guess 😂

    “Great stuff Heath”.

Tough choice, but if it was football or cricket, then it would be cricket!

Was down in Bath visiting son and family. Sunday lunch in the pub … Grandad paying!! Cricket on the big screen and England needing around 80 runs. Perfect! Then the discussion as to whether eating outside would be better. Outvoted 4 to 1 with one cowardly abstention. Had 3 lengthy visits to the bar and another 4 to the loo.

Shame they didn’t have a screen in the beer garden! Many do nowadays

As for the Grandad paying comment JI, you know it’s the role we were born to play, or rather pay 😂. I feel your pain but you know it’s worth absolutely every penny.

Sunday roast for 4 adults and 2 kids portions. A few drinks and 2 desserts ..£130. I know it was Bath prices but not too different in Leeds. I know I’m an old gimmer but I never thought I’d ever sign off on £100 plus for a pub meal and think it anywhere near reasonable. I’ve still got a few half crowns and ten bob notes in my jacket pocket.

The food prices I get it’s the drink prices when you go out to eat that are bonkers, no wonder a lot of casual drinkers buy it in bulk and stay at home having a few drinks at a weekend.

Sounds about the going rate. It’s a dear do. Last time we went for a family meal we tried the Garden Centre instead of the pub. Probably better food than the pub option and a fraction of the price
