The same as every other manager we bring in and all think it’s the right way to play,
They all think they can be the guardiola of non league if he don’t change it will cost him his job, no biggy there’s always an ex scunny somewhere waiting in the wings for the faithful to get behind.
During and after Swann most wanted a total clear out new broom and all that where’s the call for that gone? What did we get the same old same old personal the only new thing is well try and do it it on the cheap and fool the fans by calling it a sustainable model that’ll get everyone on board, well not me it’s turgid and boring splash the cash the team needs it the fans need it.October 6, 2024 at 8:45 am #291646Extremely difficult to sack AB ten minutes after his contract extension, innit?
Yesterday left me profoundly worried. AB admitted that the first half had been badly below par but failed to see that a big improvement in the second half was simply not good enough. Being 50% better than dreadful equates to POOR.
How many defeats and bad draws will it take for him to see what so many of us are seeing?
His mind is set and I almost dread what will happen if we we win an odd game or two.
He had a system that worked. It was not at all fun to watch but we got the points.
He doesn’t seem to recognise that things have changed.1 user thanked author for this post.
October 6, 2024 at 9:00 am #291647The best football we played for a few seasons was under Admiral Nelson.
If it doesn’t work under Stan (Butler) then would it be worth substituting the bus with a boat?
October 6, 2024 at 9:34 am #291651Think some people have already substituted their brain with a ” splash the cash we don’t have ” attitude. It’ll be fine who needs a well run club anyway? Oh wait…. what almost happened a year ago!!!
October 6, 2024 at 11:17 am #291658Well I never a typical post from ironawe.
The attendance figure say we have the cash, the sponsorship and advertising says we have the cash, the new lottery we didn’t have a year ago says we have the cash, the half time draw says we have the cash the fact that we can afford to employ a catering manager and re open the restaurant says we have the cash, and of course the continuing fund raising says we have the cash.
For once and for all we have the cash, yes it comes from what Michelle has done and good on her for doing so. And good luck to her she’s built something that now has equity and I would like to think if she sold her bit on she’d come away breaking even at worse.October 6, 2024 at 11:22 am #291659Nobody outside of the club hierarchy will know what cash we have or have not to spend on new or loan players, you can speculate all you like Awaywego but it does not mean you are correct and anyway you dont run the club they do.
October 6, 2024 at 11:37 am #291662Exactly they run the club and it’s a business, doesn’t matter what fans think, or does it,, keep playing like we have been of late and we all know the crowds will drop off I’m of a mind to avoid that if they think they can rest on the goodwill forever then they’d be fools.
My favorite Turnbull said there was room for manoeuvre if need be, well imo and many others that need is now.
We’ve seen there’s a team in there and at times the managers got the best out of them surely you can see just a little tweak is needed.October 6, 2024 at 11:42 am #291664According to Michelle 10% of the inherited debt still remains. Presumably all this cash that you think we have is heading that way as a priority. Not an unreasonable scenario is it?

October 6, 2024 at 11:42 am #291665The crowds will drop if results and performances continue to stutter. However, I don’t think I can take criticisms of the board seriously from an avowed Hilton stalwart* who was fine with much worse. The current board may make errors with regards to managerial appointments, but there is no real risk of them gambling on the club’s future with reckless spending or crookedness like the past 2 clowns.
*By which I don’t mean those who were pro-Hilton before he left and have now apologised.

Indeed. Debt racked up and not dealt with by the past two idiots, who thought they could distract with bluster.

October 6, 2024 at 11:58 am #291667That was a Swanny and Hilton stalwart (till they stopped the funding) Siderite. Ok accepting we have no cash though a decent accountant should be giving future predictions on current turnover by n by, use the short term loan outlet?
Hereford were looking when they had a couple of forwards down it’s not rocket science it’s common sense.October 6, 2024 at 1:19 pm #291671They will move for loan players if and when the budget allows, calm down Awaywego your a bit like a broken record, if your not blowing smoke up Hilton’s arse your talking crap about club finances, in Michelle we trust.
October 6, 2024 at 2:51 pm #291673We do need a refresh of the squad and I would hope that Turnbull still had contacts. We won’t sign anybody (and probably shouldn’t until that 10% is cleared) but we should be after some attacking loan players. It’s all a bit stale at the minute and the subs we have are next to useless, certainly don’t do anything to impact a game in any positive way – but how many times have we seen frustration with the players when it’s the formation that makes them ineffective. I reckon crowds could drop by over 20% if we continue with this rubbish.

October 6, 2024 at 3:49 pm #291683What does ‘splash the cash’ mean? How much you talking anyway awaywego? I’ve said numerous times a tough midfielder and decent forward are needed imo and by that I mean loanees, which Michelle said at season start there are funds in the budget for if needs be. That was in answer to the question about small squad.

Agree .. signings needed n pronto .. but really have any of LT / his contacts signings been owt special up to now ?
October 6, 2024 at 4:09 pm #291688Only enough to pay a players wages Deerey for one or two years not fussed, god forbid we’d actually pay a transfer fee for someone.
October 6, 2024 at 4:12 pm #291689Well we shouldn’t be paying a transfer fee for a player unless we can afford it under the financial restructure that’s taken place over the last 12 months, any idiot should know that.
October 6, 2024 at 4:19 pm #291690That’s a big fat NO IFA
Talking of finance’s it’ll only be a month or so before the club should start making a profit, and if things are to be believed that Hilton left a bigger debt than Swanny £ 1.5 million plus was mentioned on here, it’s going to be a tidy profit each month seen as though we will have paid the debt down in just over a year.
Let the good times roll.October 6, 2024 at 5:32 pm #291696Got to admire Awaywego’s tenacity but he won’t have a clue what the club will be making till the balance sheets are published, until then as usual it’s pure speculation.
October 6, 2024 at 7:18 pm #291703Michelle said there’s less than ten % debt left no speculation, you do trust her don’t you.
After that it’s not to hard to do the maths.October 29, 2024 at 6:00 am #292478October 29, 2024 at 1:15 pm #2924912021. I’d like to think he’s taken a more recent refresher course.
October 29, 2024 at 2:02 pm #292499Clearly not the one where they consider the merits of different formations?

Yes, it was called the ‘boring football masterclass’. Southgate was also one of the participants.
