I note that all the players sold over the one million mark were all when the club were under the ownership of the man who allegedly ran the club as more of a hobby by the current owner. Things change overtime but facts are a constant reminder to everyone who believes we were worse off under the previous owner and we were also a football league club. As for Hurst and his ability to develop a player of a certain value, that is pure speculation and as always dependent on the resources available within the club at the time, he’s certainly getting a good fee from Luton for McAtee pro rata the value of most league two players.

This is the thing. 6m gets the club and stadium, but as per the last accounts in 2021, there is a 2.2m debt to be serviced. Then you need realistically someone with similar money to invest again over the next few years to start heading back in the right direction. How much is the football league parachute payment? That goes after next year unless by some miracle we stay up and get promoted next year. On the plus side revenue would likely increase as attendances would go up and I honestly think that would even be the same if we were in NLN next year but under new ownership. Hopefully something comes up and soon. It’s a really hard deal to get done though at the price he is looking for.

What Swann’s “achieved” takes some doing, with or without a pandemic. Quite how anyone can take a club riding high in L1 to the where we are now is beyond me. The incompetence is unbelievable. I just hope he’s better at running the rest of his businesses a little better, though the omens aren’t good for the hospitality sector let alone what Swann is doing with his hotel in Blackpool. I’d love to be a fly on the wall at family meal times…
