The system is not getting the best out of the players.
I wasn’t there but it sounded as if all three CBs gifted a goal to Southport, according to Torps.

I agree a simpler system. For a start do away with this three central defenders. It isn’t working as they are getting in one another’s way and it’s causing confusion. Totally unnecessary, put another into attacking midfield. Could play with two wingers, Roberts one one wing and Scales on the other. Beeston and Clunan in midfield and Whitehall and Fishburn up front. I don’t believe Fishburn should have been dropped today, man of the match on Tuesday and gave much more effort than Whitehall. But we have Andy Butler as Manager who in my opinion is far too stubborn to change anything. You know when he brings Boyce on as centre forward we have lost.

I said the same when reading the team sheet. Butler keeps chopping and changing and it’s adding the the ever growing list why we’re currently tailing off.
5 at he back doesn’t work. Butler’s Far too negative in his approach. Nonsensical subs has cost us points. Needlessly keeps chopping and changing players.
I thought young fish gave us a flatform upfront the other game and allowed us to keep hold of the ball a lot better, but out of nowhere he leaves him out. Butler’s not doing himself any favours. Beestin shouldn’t have been moved either and strengthened CM.
Only problem is now we’re stuck with Butler now for a fair while due to him signing that extension that was stupidly offered to him. I think he’s here now for this season and next season.
Don’t get me wrong, he can be paid off, but why offer him an extension this early on ?
