When we won the League One title in 2007, Brentford finished bottom.

Maybe we should build a new stadium too?

    Oh, hang on!

Hull City’s owner has paid for free coach travel for fans to the last two away games, and has now extended that for the rest of this season. As with any football club owner I’m still wary of him, but he’s not put a foot wrong, yet.

I remember Swanny subsidizing coach travel to certain games and guaranteed a bus to all away games, think someone’s upset him Jerry said on Sunday that 35 are needed or the coach don’t go.

Back in the day we turned up for an away day to Walsall (Fellows Park), not enough were there to run the coach, so a quick trip to the hire company and all they had left was a twelve seat minibus. We all piled in, and all went will until we got about twenty miles from Walsall when plod pulled us up. They were less than impressed with twenty five of us on a twelve seater! Happy days. :-)

A good owner would make every effort to develop amd nurture good working relationships with stakeholders including supporters, potential sponsors, the council and the media. They would appreciate and reply to offers of help, like Simon Elliott has on Twitter. For those not on Twitter, yesterday an Iron supporting PR/marketing consultant who helped with the Portsmouth takeover called Kirsty O’Connor, reached out with an offer of help to Simon and Ian. Simon replied:

‘Many thanks for reaching out its appreciated. If we are successful in getting a deal over the line we would love to have a chat.’

Thought that was worth sharing, as I know some of you don’t view Twitter. It’s not all bad, though a lot of it is (why I never post on it). There are occasionally good things to see like that exchange that offer glimmers of hope.

Actually engage with the supporters would be a giant leap for The Iron.

I remember fans giving Swann constructive criticism and asked for years to get a fan representative on the board and all he used to was ” Until you put as much money as me in, then you’ll get a say ”

That’s the wonderful attitude we’ve all endured since he’s been at the club.

Fast forward 3/4 years and he installs Neil in a time like this and then essentially gags him via NDA’S.

What a wonderful chairman he’s turned out to be !
