i think its safe to say anything other than a win at home tomorrow and its pretty much curtains.. 3 points and results going for us elsewhere still leaves to escape door ajar as we still have to play Dorking,Torquay York and Gateshead… only Notts County a game we should realistically expect to get nowt out of.

I hope the boys are wearing their shooting boots tomorrow having left them in Scunny for the away trip to Solihull.

Prediction 2-1 to Scunny to keep the survival dream alive

The length of time that we’ve been drinking In last chance saloon means we’re probably legless by now!

    Draw at best.

In the old days it was called a lock in … maybe after tomorrow the fat lady will be checking her vocal chords with a hum and mic test 1 2 ready for the song.

I’ve found a new (to me) prediction site.
Last week they got 5 of 7 NL predictions correct.
I’m interested to see how they go today.

Woking v Chesterfield draw 33% prob.
Barnet v Notts County away 45%
    Bromley v Wrexham away 49%
    Dag & Red v Oldham away 36%
    Eastleigh v Altrincham home 41%
    Halifax v Yeovil draw 38%
    Gateshead v Torquay draw 41%
    Maidenhead v Maidstone home 53%

    Scunthorpe v Wealdstone away 61%

    Solihull v Boreham away 44%
    Southend v Aldershot draw 44%
    York v Dorking away 38%

    Strange innit!
Wealdstone have scored just SIX goals (48) more than us and are in 8th place on 55 points.
    25 points more than us.
    We got some plywood? 24ft x 8ft.

    attack attack attack

Pugh Shrimpton and Wilson in starting line up… Feeney Whitehouse Elliot all on the bench.. dont get that at all in a game we have to win, OK Wilson for Feeney YES .. but Pugh couldnt hit a pigs arse with a shovel and should be Whitehouse for Shrimpton ..

At what point in a MUST WIN game will we play 2 strikers ..ie Elliot .. another set up not to loose as first priority.

Really strong performance all game until we made the substitutions – from the moment Feeney and Elliott replaced Shields and Wilson respectively, we totally lost control of the game. Why ? Simple – neither of them understand the meaning of closing down, tracking back, or pressing the opposition off the ball. To make matters worse, Elliott just does not have a goalscorer’s instinct / talent.Bennett replaced by Daniel and guess what, we totally lost our aerial dominance upfront. Come on JD, it’s not rocket science to coach players on the fundamentals.

These issues aside, best performance I’ve seen from the Iron for months. Let’s hope it’s a sign of things to come.

Well deserved win today and the lads gave everything, good pressing throughout and never let them settle for long on the ball. Nice brace from Cam, good persistence from Smith for his goal and a brilliant solo effort from young Leake, nowt more to say really except all the knocks people have given Pugh lately must have worked because today he must have been a right little shit to play against in midfield, got in their faces, pushed, hassled and generally pissed the opposition off all game, well done young man. 👏👏🦜PS. We need to hang on to Bennett till the end of the season, proper leader up top.

We looked like the side pushing for the playoffs and them in a relegation scrap, brilliant goal from Leake and their goal was a good effort as well, Cam Wilson scored two well taken goals and Smith scored his usual goal after a good save from their keeper
The other good news was it looks like Will Smith will be staying on loan.

Bennett – I really like his style of play.
IA was so right about Pugh’s contribution.
Hope GK is alright – if his back is anything like mine he’ll be needing some serious kneading.
Cam is on a major improvement curve.
    Big question: Shields or Feeney?
Got so much right today. Approach to the game that was the norm ten years ago made a reappearance this afternoon.
Play like that and we can mebbe take 10 points from the four losers just above us.
What may well finally finish us off, though, is the games that they have in hand.

I’d like to see some (only some) of the current squad contracted for next season at least. I guess it’s difficult without knowing where we’ll be. We’re lucky to have Butterfield in the NL, I think NLN might be a bridge too far and others are clearly better than that level too.
