The Bishop’s of Stortford have lost 9 games on the bounce. They’ve scored 8 times in those games but conceded 26 times.

They face Spennymoor at home tonight.
Will it be ten defeats on the trot?

    Nah!
Steve Smith (age 66) is as safe as houses.
He’s also a director and has a 70% shareholding in the club.

If they’re debt free and own their ground I know of somebody who might be interested in a deal.

They are away at Warrington on Saturday.
So that should be 11 defeats on the spin.
    Then, they host us.

Players will be put up for sale or released from Torquay and with them top of the Southern League.

Potential good players for cheap ?

    I like the thinking.
The right striker and the right CM would encourage me to think that Tamworth are not yet home and dry.

Difficult to convince players to move that far I’d say. (Unless they have Northern roots)
I remember Lee Hodges claiming it was 10 degrees colder in Scunny and he was only moving from London.

Is Aaron Jarvis still there? Could be a handy targetman for this side?

Think you’ll find Yeovil are top of the Southern League WG and Torquay are 11th, not sure how much quality they will have but maybe a couple or so players may fit our bill.

Jarvis had a hard time whilst he was here but he always worked his socks off. Did really well in the NL last season in a relegation side and would be a lot better than what we currently have (in my opinion of course). Worth a punt as WG would say!

I was thinking similarly, always good in the air even in that terrible Cox/Hill team. Got a lot of goals in a poor Torquay team last season.

‘I remember Lee Hodges claiming it was 10 degrees colder in Scunny’. He was 10 inches shorter than the average Scunthonian though.

Torquay have a blast from the past who’s been an able target man in his career Frank Nouble and of course Aaron Jarvis. They also have a central midfielder who’s netted 7 goals this season.

Nouble and Jarvis would do a job and the central midfielder would probably be better then Scales.

Both Torquay and Rochdale will survive.
Talk of poaching their players is a waste of time.
4 or 5 months ago you would’ve moaned if supporters of other clubs were discussing poaching our players.

Only 300 miles. The 3 of them are going to jump at that for a 2 month contract.

Football is in a sad state in the UK.
The disparity will kill the game at the lower levels.

    11 consecutive defeats.

    Tuesday 5th March v Chorley
    12 on the bounce?

    Saturday 11th March v SUFC
    13 on the bounce?
    Or, lucky for some?

Think you will find we play them on Saturday 9th March Rene.

Am pretty sure of the date as it is what they call a significant birthday and I am still debating with myself if spending most of it travelling up and down to Bishops Stortford is a good idea.

Best ever birthday game. 14th birthday OSG 5-1 vs Colchester United. More importantly Terry Heath’s debut. Still my favourite all time Iron player.

Other than that one and a memorable away win at Hull 30 odd years later we usually get comprehensively beaten on my birthday.
