I am warming to Pugh: Beestin was my MOTM even before the goal.
Green? – Hmm.
Messy goal conceded.4 users thanked author for this post.
August 17, 2021 at 9:58 pm #212105No shame in that, he’s a good player that Messy!
August 17, 2021 at 10:06 pm #212108He will be back on the bench on Saturday, the moral was certainly lifted in the last 5 minutes.

Hadn’t realised that the players had such low morals. Maybe need a quiet word. 😜
August 17, 2021 at 11:46 pm #212112Thought Pugh was excellent in centre mid.
Really got stuck in and has a great engine by the looks of it. If we can get Millen fit and he’s half decent Kenyon is struggling to get back in.
August 18, 2021 at 12:23 am #212115Yay
We deserved a point…. Wo Ho!!!
A point is all we will realistically get from any game this season.
We have zero goal threat and it looks like the set up from last season had nothing to do with personnel it’s actually all Cox understands
Boring, deep, zero threat!!So far we’ve taken 2 points and they are from 2 teams we will be battling relegation with so maybe the celebrations need to be put on hold!!
We are shite!!
We will need a miracle to maintain out league status!!!!

August 18, 2021 at 12:33 am #212116Just got back and that was a point well earned. We didn’t buckle when we went one down and there is a fight in this team that wasn’t there last season. 9 player’s out injured before kick off with no striker starting so that has to be a good point.
August 18, 2021 at 6:55 am #212117After the game, Neil said that our target forward is still likely to be coming.
One half decent forward last night and we would have marmalized Walsall.
There was a lot to like: guts, intelligence, working for each other, good passing. With a few final touches and a reduced injury list – this will not be a relegation side.
These guys are showing a team spirit the like of which was totally absent last season. This team seems greater than the sum of its parts. If that can be maintained … we’ll do fine.
Okay, the goal conceded was not pretty, that I have to admit. Perry seemed rooted to the spot but his tremendous passing skills were beginning to show through.1 user thanked author for this post.
August 18, 2021 at 8:42 am #212118Whilst I was happy with a point and the attitude of the players I am not fully convinced that they have bought in to the way Cox wants to play. Is it possible that the players believe (rightly I hope) that they are better than the over defensive tactics which seems to be the only way Cox knows how to play? At this early stage it certainly looks like there could be at least two teams worse than us.
August 18, 2021 at 9:10 am #212119I do not think we were all that defensive last night. We won the first half.
Lost the plot for a short while after conceding and then took control again.
Tom Newey was spot on pointing out that we sometimes passed back in advanced positions when pushing forward would have been better but we are getting there.
Delighted that we may have Tyrone back for Saturday and possibly the new loanee.
Am disappointed that Green’s efforts seem so very sporadic.August 18, 2021 at 9:51 am #212122“There was a lot to like: guts, intelligence, working for each other, good passing. With a few final touches and a reduced injury list – this will not be a relegation side.”
That assumes the “injured” players want to play….
August 18, 2021 at 9:58 am #212123If those players think they are better than L2, or they don’t want to play in the role they’ve been asked to play then I may partially agree.
But from what those who actually went are saying that doesn’t sound the case. Particularly now Pugh is back in his best position.
Let’s see how we fare against the new boys.
August 18, 2021 at 10:46 am #212125Interestingly, Lesgeo – Number One son said that it was the first time in a very long time that he had felt that, man for man, we were actually the better of the two sides.
August 18, 2021 at 12:08 pm #212130Don’t think you can judge us on how we fare against the new boys NI, we have traditions and records to uphold and create, hope I am wrong but we are the club who keep on giving.
