November 16, 2024 at 4:41 pm #293958Is Andy Butler Scunthorpe United’s version of Mike Bassett?
November 16, 2024 at 4:42 pm #293959Clueless the words from the commentary
November 16, 2024 at 4:49 pm #293960The one fact about being a Scunthorpe United supporter is that when you think we’ve reached the bottom, Andy Butler is like “Hold my beer”.

November 16, 2024 at 4:57 pm #293965Have been of the opinion that calls for him to go this early in the season were a bit premature. I’ve now changed my mind.

November 16, 2024 at 5:07 pm #293969We need wins to bolster confidence and Butler weakens the squad against a tough team. Or did he think they were going to be poorer than they are.

… and so it was!

November 16, 2024 at 9:59 pm #294042What an absolute —- show that was today, one team wanted the win and it wasn’t us. Unlucky hitting the bar and the post, but once we scored(Cracker from Scales) we eased off and it all went downhill from there.
As mentioned before we do have some on the field who are just happy to go through the motions. With Beck in the side no hoofball as some claimed. he’ll get goals. Williams can’t say really. Barrows busy as usual. Centre backs poor.

November 17, 2024 at 7:13 am #294055What has happened to Evans? He was a class act last year.
We are trying to play 3 CBs.
Allegedly, there are 4 on the books. But, in practice, we only have two who are anywhere close to decent.1 user thanked author for this post.

It’s staggering the down turn in form from Evan’s this season. He was probably the best CB in the league last year.
I didn’t go to the game but did listen on the wireless. The usually upbeat Torpey sounded rather exasperated in the second half and described us as looking completely clueless. Sounds about right.
Bizzare subs (putting Brogan at RWB… WTF?), more howlers in defence, no sign of any change despite two new faces, losing to a team at the bottom of the 7th tier, whilst playing poor football, it’s all wearing a bit thin.
The crest of the wave has come crashing down and without the football doing a major U-turn we are set to fluff our way through the season to a mid table finish.
