    Should we feel flattered?
They are billing it as the biggest game in the history of the club.

Preview: Scunthorpe United vs Warrington Town

I think it will be another case of trying to break a team down – but hopefully we should.

It does get kind of annoying sometimes though especially when teams sit back and celebrate like they’ve won the league if they score.

And we don’t Matty, What annoys me more is Scunny fans singing “2-0 in your cup final” us of all teams should show some humility.

It’ll be a dull game in poor conditions today.
Tobias Todd Macormac seems to be running their club well.
They sit 11th in the table and their away form is better than our away form.
    I think it’ll be a tight game.

A 1-1 draw or a lucky 1-0 to the Iron.

I’m guessing Scales could well fill in it fullback and I thought he did ok there in the second half on Tuesday but they may try and get at us down that right hand flank. Could well be a tight game but I always fancy us at home and I hope Elliot starts and Whitehall has time to reflect on the bench that he needs to give us more physicality up top, despite his goals this season he still isn’t showing enough for me.

If their away form is decent it looks like 11 men behind the ball hoping for a breakaway

Looks like Max is RFB as Will returns.
I’ve been pleased defensively with Boyce.

Would have liked to have seen Elliott in for Whitehall (agree he’s not doing enough at the minute, 2 goals from open play in his last 15 games) and also Roberts in for Law (another who I don’t think is doing enough to stay in the team at the mo).

Expecting a tight game, will take another scrappy 1-0.

    0-0 at HT

    Tamworth 2-0 King’s Lynn @ HT

Jimbob needs to chew their heads off and get them in front asap in the second half!

Worse 1st half than tues a bit better 2nd, they came and sat back got what they deserved, didn’t really think they were in the game that much but got 2 good shots away that Fitz did really well to keep out so got the man of the match, most of their attacks especially 1st half came from our sloppy play at the back, Evans after just 2 mins and Clunan on numerous occasions, ref mIssed a pen for us again but not to bad overall, not the prettiest of games but I’ll take that occasionally. Ps their number 9 right fatty but he out jumped our defender’s and was an handful all game.

Funny how there No.9 turned Evans on his arse in first half. Showed how poor Boyce and Evans are tbh.

Don’t think we have passed the ball so poorly or played so slowly as in the first half today, only bright spot was Scales quick thinking down the left wing when he fired across the area. Much quicker tempo second half and we deffo need to see more of Roberts, Clunan worst game I’ve seen him play for us but I reckon we deserved the narrow win.

We won. 3 more points towards the “get the hell out of this league” fund.
Warrington easily the best side we’ve faced here in the league and they had a good go.

Certainly feels fortunate to leave with 3 points today; keeper getting MOTM says it all.

Naturally fees harsh criticising when we’ve won 7 home games in a row, but when you’re spending what we have then the expectation is there.

Team feels like it needs minor changes, whether that be personnel or formation- I don’t know. Whole build up play feels slow and teams seem comfortable defending against us.

As others have alluded to, Clunan was very poor, if he wasn’t captain he would’ve been off at half time. Whitehall had another poor game too.

Positives were obviously the win and another clean sheet. Fitz was excellent, Butterfield/Scales/Denton did well and Roberts can now hopefully finally now kick on.

Three more points to end a very good week with 9 points out of 9, and most of todays resuls going our way, excepting the Tamworth ,match. After saying that, it sounded to be a poor game, and with our keeper voted MOM, that suggests that it was a struggle, although Warrington are one of the form teams with 13 points out of thewir past sux matches until failing today.
So it is back to anoter away game next Saturday against what seems like a poor Blyth squad who have dropped to 19 place in the league after a not too bad start to the season, so Scunny must go at them and win the game.
Jimmy is getting results, but I just cannot see why Whitehall keeps making the starting eleven, possibly now that Roberts and Elliot are available, surely one of them mudst start, or better still play two up front and start with them both !!!!!

The insistence on playing Whitehall is the only real question I had today when Elliot looked good when he came on in the last game. Whitehall’s been poor for quite a while now.

Clunan was poor but he looked jaded as a lot of the other players have of late. Clunan’s been playing Sat/Tues straight after he came back from injury and plus he’s got a baby to look after, it looks like it’s taken it’s toll.

They can all least have a bit of a rest now and get Beestin, Kelly and Ogle back.

A fair summary WGs .. Clunan was fantastic early on in the season but hasnt been at the races since he had his injury and more recent illness… i would hope the fact he has a new baby isnt effecting his performances , unless he is breast feeding.

Hope Cal Roberts stays fit , will make a huge difference as an impact player with goals and assists.

Listened on the radio and lucky to win .. sounded like Warrington were the better side other than first 20 mins of the second half, pissing about in the 98th minute when only 5 mins of extra time was supposed to be played very nearly cost 2 points.

FITZ SAVED THE DAY LITERALLY !!

I had my live football fix at Nong Bua Lam Phu v Samut Prakarn last night in Thai L2 .. 3 quid to get in , no pies and a decent game ending in a 5-1 home win ..

This Whitehall thing what did he actually do wrong yesterday, he’s a center forward if you fanny about at the back and then when we do go forward and play multiple triangle and diamond passes near the corners without getting a cross in what’s he supposed to do? He brings Elliot on as the sub and he does what, has he turned any games, does he score, no he fluffed his lines no more so than at Kings Lynn. I don’t object to Jimmy changing and swapping Elliot for Whitehall but nothing would have changed the first half slow play and build up.
You now can all see how we set up and play away from home it’s not pretty is it.

Not pretty at all but we’ve got to grit our teeth and get promoted. Dean was signed as we were supposedly already down last season and he would know how to get us back up. So far, so good he is on track. There’s a reason games at this level get generally less than a thousand fans.
As for Whitehall, I’m not his biggest fan but if he was playing for Warrington yesterday they would have won 3-1.

And unfortunately we didn’t get 3pts off Darlo last Saturday!

When did we last have 40pts in November???

On 25/11/2006 we sat second in L1 (behind Forest) with 35pts from 19 games. So thus far we’re doing better than in our last title winning campaign.

If Alcy was still here to do the maths he tell us we’re on course for a 92 pt finish.

Playing below par and winning is often the mark of champions. Enjoy the ride!

Funny. I was thinking more along the lines of disturbed sleep. Babies often wake up and cry, don’t they ?

Really a pro footballer losing form due to his wife having a baby is IMO a no no and should be more professional…but tiz true hes been crap since the bairn was born.

in my younger days and for my sins i used to work perminent nights at Frod Cement and latterly BSS for GLE and i hated having mt sleep disturbed 55555555
