Charlie Wilson reporting on twitter that KVV wanted to stay but the club have decided not to resign him due to budget cuts. The Sands Siro just became a darker place.

Always gonna happen, he’s had a poor season plauged by injury and whilst not his greatest fan over his piss poor attitude at times, when he was ” on it ” he was good value and at times amazing to watch. I guess the budget cuts and injuries have done for KVV at Scunny but I wish him all the best, wherever he ends up, long as it’s not Grimsby.

Was gutted to lose him the first time and delighted to resign him.

This time knew it was coming but my heart still says it’s a shame even though the head says it’s the right decision.

Far to good for league 2 on his day but unfortunately this season I don’t think he even had one good day. Injuries really seem to have taken a toll. Hopefully he can get fit and still get a good job.

To be honest I am not to concerned with KVV going. Whilst I totally agree that there is some real talent in there, he was too inconsistent, and spent way too much time injured.

That said, he did score some impressive goals in his time here, and that Grimsby goal will forever live rent free in my head.

RH reports we are actively pursuing Harrogate’s Jack Muldoon. He is OOC in June.
We’d have been a better team this season with Jack in the squad rather than KVV!

(Other released info is out tomorrow.)

    Agree.

If he stays fit. If he’s interested. If the rest of the team are on his wavelength. A lot of IFS!

BUT! He was to an extent our current “Mr Scunthorpe United”. At Christmas Swann was saying that having a fit KvV back in contention was like signing a new striker. Another U-turn!

Not quite on par with selling Barrie Thomas to Newcastle, but I’d guess there’s a few more now who won’t bother returning to the SVS if Swann continues to sell off the family silverware.

He replacement needs to be someone special.

It doesn’t matter who goes you have to remember we finished 3rd bottom and lucky we didn’t finish in the bottom 2, sorry to see KVV go but he hasn’t set the world alight when he has played this season, I see we are trying to keep McGahey and Gillihead, can’t see it happening but I would have pushed the boat out to have kept Howard and Karacan, the disappointing thing is out of the players remaining less than half of them are good enough or experienced enough.

Was an open critic of Kev during his first spell here and was disappointed when he resigned. Can’t fault his attitude during this second spell though and he seems to have taken the club to his heart. The Grimsby goal automatically promotes him to cult hero status.

However, his goal return and injury record cannot justify him as a top earner during these times of austerity and the decision is probably best for both parties.

Wish him well in his career.

Kev iron through and through, never wanted to leave for Northampton but was pragmatic about the situation, he just accepted he wasn’t wanted here, but jumped at the chance to return, shame most managers can’t get the best out of him more their failings than Kev’s

Is Swann trying to strangle the club?
What a goal at Blunder Park.
In years to come that will be the number one memory of KVV.

So he says he wanted to stay. The club says he was offered a new contract. The Twitter feed says he was released because of budget cuts.

Where’s the truth in all this?

They obviously offered him a pay cut (and rightly so on this seasons appearance’s) thus a budget cut.

Could all be true. Wanted to stay but offered a contract that was below his expectations and requirements due to budget cuts.

In that case he did he really want to stay.

Was the offer less that what a plasterer earns?

Surely we are not surprised by all the confused information about whether KVV was released, turned down a deal or really wanted to say, it’s how the Prawn likes to operate things at SUFC. Can’t beat a bit of confusing PR and rhetoric to f**k up the masses, while he keeps tinkering away all to his own advantage. Devious but clever.

After looking at the retained list, I am sad to say, but for me, the club is of not too much interest anymore. After 70 years following the Iron, this is the lowest point I can recall, no manager can possibly make a conpetative team out of that bunch, and my biggest regret is losing Gilliead, robably the best player we have had for years.

I think he is a good player and have said so a number of times but not sure he would have made the starting line up only 4 or 5 seasons ago.

A measure of how far we have fallen.
