I cannot remember an Iron manager, not even Alan Knill, who is so utterly uninspiring as Jimmy Dean. The man sounds beaten every time he opens his mouth. He never seems to fail to find the downside to any question. God, the comparison with Adkins’ relentless possibility and enthusiasm is very unflattering to Dean.

I really hope he’s more inspiring off the pitch than he comes across in interviews because otherwise is it any wonderful the team appears so listless – a reflection of their manager?

    Cox ,Hill, Daws, and Wilcox.?

If Hill has anything it’s as a racconteur; Cox is alright, Daws spoke quite well and Wilcox too. There’s no comparison.

Hill didnt give a shit ,, he had zero connection with the town or club , meant nothing to him and was only there for the money and to play out a role as Swans puppet..reminded me of Col Custer at the little big horn.
For a so called professional manager Hills post match ramblings were an embarrassment… where is he now ?? retired i hope

Hill and Cox should have been nowhere near the managers job !
Wilcox – not particularly inspiring but the players liked him.
Daws – one temp manager option too many.

McAtee didn’t like Wilcox, wouldn’t play for him if you all remember.

Talk about Desperate, Luton are looking to sell McAtee already, complete waste of money for them.

I Thought today’s interview with Dean was actually ok. Gave us information on who is contracted and an insight into recruitment. He’s never going to articulate behind the mic but seemed more relax than before.

Keith Hill was by far the worse we’ve had. I honestly think cliche Keith was here as a side hustle, never seemed too bothered about everything imploding around him and even ditched the club’s tracksuit for his jeans and T-shirt combo.

Today’s interview was better, he’s always open and pretty honest so that’s a positive.

Hopefully he gets the recruitment right, he just worries me… take today’s interview when he said ‘the York result was a good one’
If he really thinks that then my fears about him will be proved correct!! We had to win that game and played poorly for the majority of the match, maybe he wanted a point from it?

I’ll try and remain open minded on Dean because he’s going nowhere

No excuse tomorrow, may as well go all out for victory because losing doesn’t matter, incidentally my cousin drove the Bus to Boreham Wood and said it wasn’t a happy Bus on the way home, but didn’t say whether it was players or management or he maybe didn’t know

The best and the worst top 5 past n present Scunny managers ..anyone not mentioned means they were deemed IMO mediocre.

My somewhat dusty old memory goes back to 1983 to John Duncan to Alan Clarke

    https://www.soccerbase.com/teams/team.sd?team_id=2263&teamTabs=managers

    Best
    Laws
    Adkins
    Alexander
    Hurst
    Buxton
    * both Hurst n Alexander fell fowl of Swan

    Worst
    Hill
    Cox
    Mcall
    Nic Daws
    Knill

Im sure others will have their own thoughts

Didn’t rate Duncan myself but we’re all have different views, relegation in his first season, then had to get rid, we were going nowhere Clarky signed Tommy Graham and the rest was history, always remember Duncan asking for the fans to turn up
against Bury 6000 did in November 0-1 we never saw 6000 again that season but we were promoted, never liked anyone at Scunthorpe asking for fans to turn up since.
