Update from the Iron Trust

I would like to thank the Iron Trust for confirming some of the rumours going around at present. I for one did not realise that Swann still owned the stadium, practice pitch and surrounding land. I think with all the excitement of our Club being taken over by David Hilton we were carried along with everything, but now its back to reality. I feel very concerned also that it is now deadly silence from DH and there are many questions he should be answering for the good of our Club and with respect to our fan base. Our fans have been brilliant since the takeover. It also seems odd to me as to why no additional directors have been invited on to the board as that would bring more money in too. This is from a very concerned supporter.

With all these rumours around, wouldn’t it be a hell of a lot easier if ‘Mr Hilton’, as vanishing Patrick prefers to call him, to do an interview or issue a statement, confirming or denying the rumours and giving us an insight in to the future plans, particularly what happens after the 24 May if Swann isn’t paid off? Is it too much to ask?

It’s good he’s spoken at length about what’s happening, absolutely, but it was less an ‘interview’, more a statement about matters with a club employee prompting. A proper interview with an independent interviewer on say, BBC Humberside would be good. Hopefully there will be one.

Not needed, told us things fans won’t particularly like, end of the academy for now, lots of redundancies, training moving to ilkeston, no buttering us up just told us how it’s going to be that’s fair enough imo.

Ok, so Ilkeston is about a one hour and fifteen minutes drive from Scunthorpe. It’ll be a pain, but it is better than paying Swann to use what is supposed to be our own facilities. I hope an alternative is found soon, or that someone more sympathetic to the Iron takes the land around Glanford Park off the hands of that money grubbing bast**d.

He probably did save our club from administration. But with major assets still belonging to Peter Perfect, we are still in a precarious situation.

Lies were also told regarding the facilities that still belong to Swann. Having said that, we should be used to being lied to by now.

Said in an earlier post an interview or statement confirming or denying the rumours and telling us his plans would be helpful. He’s done that and it is helpful. I would also like an interview with someone independent of the club and I have said that previously on another thread. There is nothing unreasonable about that. If you think it is, that’s your prerogative. No need to keep bringing me up on it. Not like I’m demanding it. Get off my back. There’s no obligation to be completely fine with any of this you know.

What I find more interesting, than you coming after me, is how people who were worried about the rumours a few days ago are now on board with the them now they’ve been confirmed. What changed? The way he explained it? If Swann had suggested moving òperations and training to a place 70 miles away there would have been uproar. Hilton does it and suddenly it’s fine, ‘inevitable’ etc. Sorry, it’s happening, nothing I can do about it, but this direction of travel is a concern, to say the least

Agree with the Swann bit, I suppose it will take time for the negativity to fade away for many, hopefully a promotion run next season would get positivity back, come on Deerey you know we’re like an old married couple and both like the final word lol.

Instead of/or alongside an independent interview Mr Hilton mentions there will be fans forums coming up, that could be a good time to get all unanswered questions/concerns put to him.

Did you miss the part of the DH interview where he said he had to show proof of funds before he entered into buying the whole shooting match, including the land and ground, that’s the point I was making DM. Look if DH can’t stump up the money when required I will hold my hands up, if he can and does, who is the troll? I believe I’m making a fair point.

Time will tell I-A and of course I hope you’re right but I think it’s unfair to label this poster a troll given he / she seems to be reliable source based on previous rumours being true.
