Swann has ruined the Club, but let’s not make out that it was deliberate.

He wanted to be a big success. He wanted to appear in the Director’s box and have people chant his name. He wanted to be the Messiah.

Unfortunately for us, the supporters, he had no idea how to run a football club.

I’m guessing he derives more pleasure from his Cool Silk thoroughbreds?

You need 11 / 14 players to play well to win a game.

A big run from one of his horses and he’s won a Grade One.

He wanted to be the messiah.

But instead he’s just a very naughty boy!

Bolton fans had a similar predicament, for them their corrupt owner took the money from the club from season ticket sales (according to their fans), could be that people are nervous around that, as Oldham fans are.

In order for the club to survive it has to be sold, that is out of the fans hands

    I feel for Oldham fans.

Some good posts on this thread but there’s always one! Unfortunately on this site its always the same one.

So Peter, another week passes by with no news of any impending takeover or sure sign that you are prepared to invest into the future.

So how does this impasse end, we the supporters are like yourself Peter not parting with any cash or investing in the Iron and certainly in no mood to place our hard earned monies into the most uncertain of futures?.

Meanwhile the club remains in limbo with no clear direction or leadership, and all the best players and their agents cutting deals for the 2022/23 season meaning we will be scraping the bottom of the barrel again from the outside (as in emptied of the dregs and turned upside down).

I’ve only ever been to one Premier League game and that was Oldham v Everton, I was going to watch us at Chester but got held up at Haltwhistle for 90 minutes because of roadworks and traffic lights not in sync, Neil Pointon played for Oldham and Peter Beagrie played for Everton that day.

Sorry to get a tad political but doesn’t all this rather smack of Lenin’s ‘useful idiots’ strategy?
(There are some who doubt the attribution of this idea to Vladimir Ilyich himself – but it is just so very Leninesque that I possess few doubts that this was indeed, his baby.)
He both scorned and valued those quarter wits who had so easily and naively fallen for all of his propaganda. They were incapable of grasping that it would either lead to their own destruction or to an end product which would be totally out of synch with their desired outcomes.

The old teacher in me feels the need to say: DISCUSS in the context of SUFC over recent years!

Putin has plenty of useful idiots globally, both on the left and the right (ahem). Who are you suggesting is the provocateur here? Peter or UTI99? Or both?

Slightly off piste but the last two Premier League games me and Awaywego went to together we saw the first ever Premier League goal and Man Utd beat Ipswich 9-0, absolutely no bonus points for names of scorers in either.

I saw Dennis Laws final league goal at old Trafford, and it wasn’t for United, plenty of pitch invasions that day, game never got finished but the result stood.

So what is happening Peter are you keeping the club or still selling.

What have you done with the season ticket money?

Are the consortiums real or a figment of your imagination?

Well unless you are calling our fan director and Turnbull liars I would imagine the consortiums are (were) real, and Turnbull did say the season ticket money was going into the player budget.

Somebody at the club told me – 6 or 7 years ago – that the ‘working’ parts are so ancient that they cannot be replaced when they fail.
    New scoreboard or nothing.
    (Nothing might be tidier.)
