£3,375 prize money if we win and £1,125 if we lose. Seems a long time since we last won a cup match
We might be able to get one Oasis ticket with the difference. Av it!
September 25, 2024 at 5:27 am #291205Strange innit… our first defeat of the season immediately followed the two games against Newcastle Town.
Winning this league is all that matters.
We don’t need distractions.September 25, 2024 at 6:14 am #291206I don’t think the 5-0 victory against Newcastle can be attributed to the Scarborough defeat. Poor selection and tactics put paid to our undefeated start. We weren’t playing great in the league for a few games prior to the defeat.

Yep .. league performances have been unconvincing to say the least and IMO a tad lucky to be where we are, if things dont change top spot will be lost to one of the current chasers and with Chester on fire and also playing us soon it may well be them.
Agree with Rene getting out this league has to to be the priority, a cup run may be welcome but for sure a distraction and big risk of more injuries with the extra games and possible replays etc… imagine Roberts , Fitz or any other key players getting crocked in a cup qualifying game and being out for a lengthy period NO THANKS.
September 25, 2024 at 7:02 am #291208I can agree that number 1 priority is getting out of this league, have a slightly different perspective in terms of additional revenue, even if it’s just £30-40k could help us get two/three better quality loan players – which we will need sooner rather than later. Also it would be nice to get a cup run because we haven’t had one for years; would be good to get a league club and see more than 45 supporters in the away end

September 25, 2024 at 8:32 am #291210They will need to be up for it on Saturday because Guiseley will chase everything.
But I note the same bad habit is back, so many are commenting about poor passing. I do not understand that and attitudes need changing. It is a basic must.
September 25, 2024 at 10:02 am #291213Do you not think the club could use the extra circa £30’000 from the overall 2000 more fans they’ve attracted in the first 4 games to go and get some better quality loan players, or maybe even buy a player of our own.
Never mind all the other money brought in from a thousand different streams.
We can all see there’s no money from the attendances in the cup and if we do get to the first round the total prize money is just over £18’000 so let’s be under no illusions there’s no money in it till you win that first round game £41’000 but you need to win it has there is nothing for the loser.September 25, 2024 at 9:02 pm #291225So I would class a decent cup run as getting to the second round (how sad it is that I have to write this). So the £41k would do nicely.
September 28, 2024 at 5:03 pm #291298Let’s just go and win the league.

They’ve the ex Scunny Trident of Jackson, Butroid & Howe to fork them off.
Dec to bag two in a 2-1 win for the Holy Blues.
October 12, 2024 at 2:04 pm #291891Would a love a cup run.
Reaching the 3rd round of the fa cup was a regular occurrence during the Wharton era raising valuable income.
Since our cup record has been awful.
A cup run would be another great step in restoring the finances and will be interesting to see how we go against teams above us.Going forward, it looks as if QR4 is going to be a good cup run for us?
R1 is our new Wembley-esque final.
Teams above us? We can’t handle those below us.

A few cranky heads there aswell then, who would have thunk it.
October 13, 2024 at 10:24 am #291922Interestingly enough their forum says the substitutions gradually made the team worse as they progressed.

October 13, 2024 at 11:25 am #291926A few excerpts from a “no punches pulled” Kiddy match report:-
Well that was bad wasn’t it? BAD!, BAD!, BAD! Following a shocking, substandard second half performance the Harriers went crashing out of the FA Cup.
We must have had around ten chances to go into the break at least two goals to the good but profligacy in front of goal has been our failing all season.
The second half was shocking and inexcusable. Phil Brown could clearly see his game plan wasn’t working but to take off our entire midfield was criminal on his behalf.
We went to pieces in the middle of the park, understandable considering we had no one in the middle of the park to create anything. Every ball that came our way was mis-kicked, fumbled, lost and given away. Do these players never practise ball control in training? Is it just all laughter and piggybacks?
After the game Phil Brown came out and held his hands up to the way he had set the team up.
Anything familiar in there?
