Two hopes – Bob Hope and No hope

I’ve read a few comments on here that start, “our only hope is …”, followed by suggestions of who we could sign etc. That hope is epistemically irrational and unwarranted. The problem is the structure of the board. What is happening now reflects the board’s competence in running a football club. Intelligent boards recognize the extent of their own knowledge. They reflect on their performance to understand what has worked well and what has gone wrong in the past. In this way they become aware of the gaps and are proactive in creating a board with expertise, diversity and the commitment needed to make better decisions.
I don’t see any evidence of this board having that intelligence.
