Topics: 11pay your money and give the club a chance of a return to the EFL with an increased playing budget.
Or
dont pay your money which will greatly reduce the playing budget and maybe put the club in jeopardy completely.
All this Swann BS is just excuses. You either support the CLUB/TEAM or you don’t! Pay your money and chant ‘Swann out’ all game if you wish but at least do your part.
In what world do you think not paying your money will help the CLUB/TEAM?

May 21, 2022 at 9:01 pm #237659Well that’s what Swann is doing now in a reduced capacity , so how about the club drops the price to £8 a match for everyone and your mate Swann makes up the difference let’s say to £15 per entrance fee. Sounds reasonable enough because he is a multi millionaire and the average Scunny fan will be struggling financially a lot more then him.

You’re advocating ‘fans’ not supporting the club financially because the owner who wants out isn’t?
If we sell lots of season tickets it will make the new owners lives a hell of a lot easier.
How can people be so blind to the self harm the ‘stayaways’ are causing? The club is dependent on FANS MONEY!

May 21, 2022 at 9:12 pm #237661UPTHEIRON99 other choice is swann sells up by the end of the month and the fans come back.
You just don’t listen what the fans have been saying all season10 users thanked author for this post.

May 21, 2022 at 9:23 pm #237663If fans do pay their money, how do the fans know the money won’t get wasted again on players not wanted by the manager? How about the owners turn up?
The club will never move forward as the swann’s relationship with the fans is too toxic. Swann has shattered the fans trust with his mismanagement of our cherished club, alienating loyal fans who have followed the club through good times and bad on the pitch, no longer trusting him with their hard earned cash.
Naming his asking price would help fans decide if he his serious about selling or giving the ground back might be a start in repairing the damage he’s caused.13 users thanked author for this post.

I think Swann realises that which is why he is selling the club and probably won’t be seen at Glanford Park on a matchday.Fans not paying their money does nothing to help the club agreed?
May 21, 2022 at 9:42 pm #237665Like I said fans will come back as soon as they name the new owners. Stop dragging your feet and get gone. Also tell fans how much and what the new owners will get for there money.
Please don’t leave it till September till you go. If you want sufc to survive. It will be your fault again and will show you just don’t learn your lesson5 users thanked author for this post.

I’ll ask again how does fans deserting the club help it? Just ONE example.
May 21, 2022 at 10:05 pm #237667Swann says he resigned being chairman to give him more time to find a buyer/buyers. According to him he has turned down two offers for our club, but no-one knows only himself what the figure is he is even asking, never mind what the offers were. Typical Swann don’t tell the fans anything and many fans are not convinced that he is even serious about selling up. All we can be sure of is that he has disappeared now that he has taken us out of the football league. He has put Lee Turnbull in the front line and that is another wage to come out of club monies instead of Swann manning up and sorting out his own utter mess, and selling up now. If he sells sooner rather than later, preferably during the close season, we have more chance of saving our Club as many more fans will return once we have seen the back of the Swanns.

Topics: 11Surely the priority should be that the club is financed sufficiently? Bit of a backwards way of working to risk the future of the club in the hope someone has cash to buy it from Swann.
Serious lack of common sense. As I said the other day Newcastle fans had the right idea, never deserted the club yet still made their feelings towards Ashley known.
May 21, 2022 at 10:26 pm #237669UpTheIron… totally clueless and disconnected with the fans!!
Start LISTENING!!!
We are all SICK of SWANN!!!
He needs to GO!!!!!!!!
If he stays he needs to do something drastic with ticket pricing and recruitment…. The onus isn’t on the fans anymore!! It’s on him!!!
SUFC will exist beyond Swann even if it’s in the bottom tier of non-league and fan owned.
Swann has ZERO bargaining power now!
He sells up or he puts up and shuts up it’s as simple as that.We as fans are not responsible for this and the responsibility isn’t on us to put it right!!
One man did this and it’s time he stood up and became accountable!

Swann has said the club has to be self sufficient which means YOU not buying tickets has a massive impact on the playing budget.
If you don’t buy a ticket the budget gets cut it’s as simple as that.WOULD OUR PLAYING BUDGET BE BIGGER WITH 500 SEASON TICKETS SOLD OR 5000 SEASON TICKETS SOLD?
It’s really not rocket science!
Swann will be gone when someone actually provides proof they can afford the club.
May 21, 2022 at 10:37 pm #237671Fans could all get a season ticket, Swann could pocket the cash then liquidate the club and fans never get their money back. What’s the guarantee then ?

Swann isn’t going to just sell the club for £100 to the first bidder is he.
May 22, 2022 at 12:48 am #237680Why would the club need liquidating if it has sufficient cash flow through ticket sales?
I said what is the guarantee, meaningless drivel from you isn’t a guarantee that money is returned, you can’t disprove a thing because cash can be manipulated in and out of businesses with a few strokes of a clever accountants pen. Fans have no guarantee that their money invested for the coming season with the club in such an unsure position about it’s future and hemorrhaging money on a weekly basis, is going to be safe. Fans are sick to death of years of bullshit which has come to nothing and now the club is crumbling before the eyes whilst the culprit skulks in the shadows with a statement the club is being sold. Why should fans believe it is being sold?, after all it’s just another statement and how many of them have been released over the years and come to nothing?
Until the club is sold and the owner has gone and the future of the club has been put in a clear light that fans can come to terms with and get some actual belief back, then people will not pay up front in large numbers. They are weary and now wary about the club’s future in the present owners hands, trust has gone, people don’t believe anymore, people are feeling conned and let down and have had enough. It’s just an opinion but I talk to a lot of fans and I know what I hear and I don’t believe I’m the only one hearing it either.
Believe what you want uti99 but the majority of fans I speak to just don’t believe anymore and until Swann goes I don’t believe that will change.8 users thanked author for this post.
May 22, 2022 at 1:01 am #237681True to form you are a complete and utter.
Most clubs supporters are galvanised by what their owners do on and off the field, we are unique in we are galvanised by what ours don’t do on and off the pitch.

May 22, 2022 at 8:34 am #237684How many times does it have to be stated that fans have been paying their money out for year after year with zero evidence that it has been well used?
They are getting literally nothing back from their ticket monies – certainly not entertainment.
In what other spheres of life would these fans have happily chucked in good money after bad?UTI, I have known a few gamblers in my life who have ‘chased their losses’ and got into serious trouble. Total losers, bless ’em – it strikes me that you seem to be advocating a very similar course of action for fans who quite reasonably think ‘many times bitten, many times shy’.
If there are buyers in the wings – how’s about a little pump-priming from the owner? – Let it be known that for this coming season (only?) – he will ensure a player budget of £1.5 million to guarantee that the Iron will be able to compete fully.
This is a double whammy as it will show potential buyers that the club is able to put out a team that will not take us down the toilet and it might encourage those ornery season ticket holders to dig deep too.
(It worked for Roosevelt.)The problem has been that there have been so very few intelligent, decent signings in May and June over quite a number of years. Thus, people keep their hard-earned money in their pockets as a direct consequence. They have not been incentivised. They know, all too well, that late signings equate to dogend signings.
If this radical tactic were to be employed just this once … it could change the whole picture. ‘A gamble’ you say?
Well, the fans are being asked ‘to gamble’ – yet again! If half decent players start arriving over the next two or three weeks – they may well commit one more time.7 users thanked author for this post.
May 22, 2022 at 8:37 am #237685IA and Les sum it up. Even the most ‘agreeable’ fans have to draw a line somewhere. Of course there are a range of opinions on how we have arrived at where we are. Alcy never bought in from the start and now feels totally vindicated. That’s one end of the spectrum. Others were inclined to a more generous take on Peter Swann and chose to keep going back to the well of ‘benefit of the doubt.’ That well has now run dry … except for a handful of what might be termed ‘pathological’ optimists. We don’t know why Mr Swann has so dramatically plugged the plug over the last year or two. Maybe he has just lost interest. Maybe someone else has had a strong say in where the family fortune is invested. Maybe Covid has contributed to a re think. Perhaps he has come to the humble opinion that he’s misjudged his capabilities as a Football Club Chairman. It’s not even impossible that he intends to sell us down the river and recoup at least some of his losses using the ground. Most supporters are hurting and in limbo. I am hoping that Mr Swann will be prepared to at least ‘share’ the financial hit of losses incurred under his leadership and sell the club and assets at a price which attracts a buyer. This would no doubt be painful for him but would be an indication that he has taken some responsibility for what has occurred under his Chairmanship. Perhaps clauses in the sale could ensure in some way that new owners don’t profiteer on the clubs assets by his ‘generosity’ in the sale. I for one can’t bring myself to shell out for something that has no certainty or clarity about it and so, like most I suspect, we are left watching and waiting.

Swann will sell when he gets a serious offer but for you to expect that to happen by May 31st is just you living in cloud cuckoo land.
Newcastle was officially put up for sale in 2017 and sold in 2021.
Hull City was put up for sale in 2014 and sold in 2022.

Topics: 11Les, supporting a football club by buying a season ticket is always a gamble but it has to be done to give the club the best chance financially. Bad times don’t last forever.
May 22, 2022 at 9:03 am #237689Leadership involves communication, motivation and honesty, UTI. Give the fans some honest answers as to what the vision for the future is. I travel a round trip of nearly 150 miles to watch the Iron. There’s a financial commitment before I even factor in my season ticket. If negotiations are too sensitive to be disclosed at this stage then somebody at the club needs to at least say so and ask for patience. If you think that evidence of commitment is needed UTI then supporters can point to the fact that we were not playing to an empty stadium for most of last season. Look at the stats on what we had to endure!! I demonstrate my commitment at this time …. by saying that I will cough up when I have a better idea of what I am buying into .. or that I am certain that my investment won’t be liquidated.

May 22, 2022 at 9:11 am #237690You never address a single point raised uti but are happy to repeat the same old rhetoric, you obviously don’t get it but the responses by people on this thread and others you have raised in a similar vein show that they do. The saying ” wake up and smell the coffee ” is a familiar one that has been used over the years to try and get the blinkered to rethink their position, I fear your percolator has run out of coffee beans.

May 22, 2022 at 10:39 am #237694The owners of the club have stated that they will put no more money into the club, how is that helping? They expect the fans to turn up and spend their money on match days but they don’t bother to attend. The club is up for sale (allegedly) but without the ground exactly what ‘assets’ are being sold?
