Christ on a bike???
April 16, 2022 at 12:21 pm #235786Was he in a rush? Said more to awaywego yesterday!
April 16, 2022 at 12:23 pm #235787At least he didn’t make promises he won’t keep.
We’ve had 9 years of that and look where it got us.

April 16, 2022 at 12:26 pm #235788I’m not sure if I expected any different. Passion isn’t a theme of our leadership team speeches/statements. What I do know is that we need them to know finally smell the roasted beans and get the platform for next season in place ASAP. New owners (if the actually exist) and new players, deadwood removed ASAP. I wouldn’t play many of them now, blood the youth and work out which are worth keeping!
Firstly though, we need an on pitch Captain. Not easy to buy but an absolute priority. Hopefully gel the new team quicker …
UTI!!
April 16, 2022 at 12:36 pm #235792I would try and get Joe Murphy back and make him Captain to steady the ship.

Topics: 11Why should a man appointed by Swann write a heartfelt statement about our current situation after being in the job 2 weeks.
Swann should be the one writing the statement as he has overseen all but 2 weeks of our demise from league 1 to national league.
You didn’t want Turnbull to be Swanns puppet and I think this shows he isn’t. Swann should be the one releasing a statement.

April 16, 2022 at 12:39 pm #235795Of course UTI99 somehow tries to make this joke of a statement the fans’ responsibility.

I said Swann should release the statement not Turnbull.

April 16, 2022 at 12:47 pm #235797Fair. I misinterpreted your last sentence.
Why would Swann do that? What has given you the impression Swann takes any kind of personal responsibility after these years of constant deflection?

April 16, 2022 at 12:48 pm #235798Swann, Turnbull, Hill… It doesn’t really matter who they churn out. It wouldn’t sound any sweeter, even if they could get someone to write a script with words like sorry, gutted, embarrassed, hurting…

Topics: 11I’m not saying Swann would do that, but he should.
People getting on Turnbulls back after 2 weeks is very harsh. He’s not going to take responsibility for the last 3 years.

April 16, 2022 at 1:25 pm #235804Doubt if we hear from Swann again, he’s stepped down as chairman and is just classed as owner , he can avoid being in a position where he has to make statements. He’s done with us, when or if the club gets sold I’d be surprised if he says anything then, head deeper in the sand then ever, he wants it all to go away as fast as possible.

April 16, 2022 at 1:26 pm #235805Et tu UTI99?

April 16, 2022 at 1:36 pm #235810All I want is a statement from the owner stating two words “ I’m sorry”
We can then hopefully go our separate ways in the near future and never cross paths again.

April 16, 2022 at 3:04 pm #235816Narcissists are never sorry, they don’t understand the terminology, their brains aren’t wired that way. EG Donald Trump

April 16, 2022 at 3:58 pm #235817‘Swann should be the one writing the statement’. May have escaped your attention but Swann has stepped down as Chair and Turnbull is now Acting Chair and COO. But you’re not trolling are you, so I guess you need to catch up UTI99 🤣

April 16, 2022 at 4:52 pm #235825Swans words/ lies/ false promises are not worth listening to anyway.
He has presided over our current demise and should be thoroughly ashamed of the mess he has created.
I’ve heard enough of his bullshit to last us a lifetime.3 users thanked author for this post.

Topics: 11So don’t expect Turnbull to pour his heart out about things he has had very little to do with.
He takes zero responsibility for the past 3 years and can only focus on the future.
April 16, 2022 at 10:51 pm #235851Not even an apology in the statement. Beyond pathetic.

April 17, 2022 at 4:17 am #235855Is there a definitive list somewhere of all broken promises?
April 17, 2022 at 7:56 am #235857Would need someone with a lot of time on their hands to put that together.

April 17, 2022 at 9:11 am #235859I sent Lee a text last night because us fans are concerned, this was his reply “Statement had to be brief, a long winded response would not imo have been appropriate, we are all hurting! Mick, I have given our supporters the opportunity to ask what they wanted prior to the last 2 games , spent 90 minutes in the pub with the fans on Saturday, which I will continue to do, need to stand shoulder to shoulder and look people in the eyes!!!, the Fight has started and the aim is clear, get our club back on track with a clear vision and hard working people who will sweat blood” UTI

April 17, 2022 at 9:45 am #235860Even at the pub someone with us a friend (they hadn’t travelled down with us) not happy with Lee leaving round about 1,00 o’clock, our friend who had been there an hour and hadn’t even taken the opportunity to speak to Lee, and yet put down everything he had said to us, that’s what your up against people who believe what suits their own narrative what’s going on instead of getting it from the horse’s mouth when the opportunity is there, not saying that anything he said to us will happen but at least he had the balls to front up, and of course we explained Lee had duties to do at the ground in no uncertain terms friend or no friend.
April 17, 2022 at 9:54 am #235861Thanks for that update Mick. I think we all need to be realistic and allow Lee Turnbull to draw at least a dotted line under how we got here. We will only get a solid line when the club has different ownership but he cannot do anything about that.
Given the current owners track record of getting deals done holding our breath on that is probably not a good idea.
It’s a long and difficult road back to credibility for this football club and team. Hopefully Lee has got a map which is something that has sadly been missing for the last four years.
I was so embarrassed by our first half capitulation on Friday I decided not to attend any more matches until new owners were in place. On reflection I refuse to give up on my club becauseof the stupidity of one man who doesn’t give a shit and will be there against Stevenage and Hartlepool. Might even go to Bradford. I will embrace the inevitable defeats, cheer the young lads on and see it as the start of a long and painful climb.
This is rock bottom (he says hopefully),

April 17, 2022 at 10:59 am #235865Lee’s already earned my respect staying in the pub with you for so long awaywego! Did you get on to feminist issues at any point?
