I wondered if anyone connected with the steel industry in our town might be able to put into simple ‘on the ground’ terms how Trump’s steel tariffs might affect us? By ‘us’, I mean Scunthorpe steelworks and all of the businesses around it and associated with it…

If you think he’s a shit-talking clown then I think you underestimate the machinery around him, and where that machine is intending to drag the world.

Nowhere good. But my point was Trump’s ill manners and apparent idiocy are a smokescreen. The original question remains: How might (will) US steel tariffs affect Scunthorpe steelworks and associated businesses?
February 12, 2025 at 11:59 am #298852You know Trump is doing exactly like I thought he would once elected, making everyday about him. He’s in every news bulletin everyday and it’s all about him, how shocking, outrageous, whatever you want to describe his behaviour or actions he needs to be noticed and talked about everyday. Him him him him, the total narcissist is the most powerful man in the world and I believe he is very dangerous because of that.

And if his plan for the ethnic cleansing of Gaza goes ahead, he will be remembered in history as the tyrant that he is.

February 12, 2025 at 5:53 pm #298872Well it is against international law trying to shift the Palastenians out of Gaza on a permanent basis, not that Trump cares because everything he says in his eyes is correct. One of his apologists was on Newsnight last night and got annoyed when asked by Vicky Derbyshire how Trump would actually get the Palestinians to leave if they refused, she seemed to suggest it was wrong to ask the question. Not answering the question is a political trait no matter which country you ask it but anybody with an ounce of commonsense will realise Trump is completely in the wrong about this issue.
