October 16, 2024 at 1:42 am #291969October 16, 2024 at 11:05 am #291975Happy to put millions out of work then?
Happy to pay more in tax to make up the government shortfall?
Choices.Clearly you missed that I wasn’t being entirely serious. But equally, the same specious arguments were used when smoking bans were first mooted.

October 16, 2024 at 11:51 am #291978A fantastic win for Trinity. A much needed boost for club accounts as well. Great to see Lewis Butroid on the scoresheet. Still say he should have stayed, gives his team 100% in every game and for me could score more goals – has a great shot whether a moving ball or freekick.
Good luck to them in the 1st Round proper.

Boston 0-4 GainsboroughOctober 16, 2024 at 1:15 pm #29199028 (2023-24) + 13 (2024-25) = 41 goals in 51 games for Trinity for Declan Howe!
October 16, 2024 at 1:26 pm #291993Good luck to Trinity, I’d say they have a fair chance of making R2 having drawn Hednesford.
Is Declan any relation to Callum Howe?

Probably going to be a tougher game against Hednesford, the next moneybags of non league who defeated Gateshead.

October 17, 2024 at 8:44 pm #292066A great club, I hope they have a fantastic FA Cup run:
“Trinity were elected to the Football League in 1896, and the first League match at the ground was played on 12 September 1896, with 2,000 spectators watching a 1–1 draw with Manchester City.
The record attendance for a Football League match at the Northolme was set on 29 April 1911, when 5,600 saw Trinity beat Chelsea 3–1.
Gainsborough were voted out of the Football League at the end of the 1911–12 season, and returned to the Midland League. The ground’s record attendance of 9,760 was set for a Midland League match against local rivals Scunthorpe United in the 1940s”

Are Hednesford throwing sacks-full of cash at it then?

Pretty sure Trinity are responsible for our record defeat, something like 18-0, back in the 1920s when Trinity were possibly still a Football League club.
October 18, 2024 at 12:10 pm #292077Callum Howe another released several years ago and been competing at the same level very well
So how much money wasted for no better. You have the same with Lewis Butroid – how many attempts to replace have been successful ? Then let ua mention Kyle Wootton a natural centre forward that our clever managers play as a winger !! Then released for next to nothing and scoring regularly in div 1 !!

October 18, 2024 at 1:03 pm #292079Hindsight is a wonderful thing! At the time they weren’t good enough for the level at which we were playing. (IMO)
