Why would this point to trialists being binned?

Both things potentially good news. Surely the purpose of having trialists is to make a judgement on ability and character. It seemed last year judgements were based on agent recommendations and you tube clips.

Cox definitely said that he sent 2 packing so we must have eith had 4 to start with or had 2 sent them off and then got Thompson and Bunn in.

It would have been more clear if the club actually told fans anything !

Thompson he seems desperate to sign and Bunn it sounds like he’s waiting on because he picked up a knock on Saturday. Cox said he’ll see how he get’s through Tuesday’s game and if all is ok will sign him.

Defensively we’re pretty much set now if Thompson signs. A good GK short but we’ll have enough defenders at least.

I’m as frustrated as anyone at the apparent lack of signings but we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes.
It’s best not getting annoyed about it though until all becomes clear, then if we don’t have a prepared squad at the start of the season then start complaining. It’s evident that the views on here are unlikely to result in the club divulging all.

We can’t have a fully prepared squad if some are not signed until a week before the season starts though. Bunn and Thompson are already with us, fair enough, but others will not have long to get acclimatised.

Cox said there’s scope to sign 7 on perm deals. Thompson and Bunn will make that 5 so enough room then for an out and out striker and one winger/striker.

Gk and CM on loans. Cox did say he’s agreed 2 already so that will be us done.

If trialists are to be signed – makes sense to get it done in good time for Farsley.

I know it depends what’s available and who wants to come but if there is room for more permanent signings I’d much rather one of those was a keeper than anything else. With us being apparently limited to 6 month loans it would be a disaster to get a good keeper in on loan and then lose him half way through the season.

With the embargo rules we can only have a squad of 23 that have had a pro competitive appearance. We can have 2 loans. After that any other permanents would I think come from development squads.

It was said in another thread only league games count so as far as I know he doesn’t count.
