He didn’t pay anything for the land, he just swapped it for the debt.

Is that supposed to sound better?

Sounds a bit dodgy to me!

MK, why would I include current players when they are obviously players we have signed/re-signed who fit the current sustainable wage budget?

Yes you’re right we had some great seasons/players under Wharton aswell as some dismal ones on our way back to league 2.

Aye, and Stalin* was a bit naughty!

    * I picked Stalin for ‘balance’. ;-)

Sounds dodgy to me as well, just hope it isn’t. Only time will tell.

….but he never put us £11 million pounds in debt due to budget mismanagement then knicked the ground and said that makes us even, until I start to charge you rent for something you owned before I arrived.

I’ll say this, as a part time petrol station worker with zero money to be sued for. Swann is all about his money and not SUFC. He just bought a football club, close to the one he owned previously, and after a few attempts at taking it up to championship level, is now making it worth peanuts so that he can own it for nothing.

I believed in you Swan you cnut, make me do that again or kindly p off.

Well let’s hope he doesn’t listen to you WG, you tried to rewrite history by claiming we needed help on the last day of the season to get promoted under Wilcox. Ps. still waiting for you to admit you were wrong.

My memory isn’t the best but didn’t we have to rely on a team failing to win their last game to go up ?

Baring in mind we had the best squad in the whole league by a country mile and just about limped over the line.

A promotion yes but we carried no momentum through to the next season…we limped over the line with a broken leg in the end.

Wilcox them moved to York and did nothing there either. Nice to know you picked that example though, which in my eyes tells me a lot.

This is not a transfer embargo! it was a loan for day to day running of the club and not to be used for transfer funds, we can still sign players or loans but we have to stay within the 107% rule

I think it is a limit of no more than 25 senior players and like BI66 says they put a max wage on new signings until it is paid back.

So we seem to be okay for signings.
    One question:
    Where are they?
What was 31st of May thing all about?
(Okay, I can’t count to one – I admit it!)

No we didn’t WG. As much has I disliked Wilcox and am over the moon he has left the building, we must give him credit for achieving promotion and the longest undefeated run for a manager’s start in the world. The rest of your post I totally agree with.

he still cost us winning the league with sitting deep late on, 10 games we dropped points after the 90 minute board went up.

That goes without saying, still have nightmares about Dagenham, probably the lowest feeling I have had after scunny match, made it a long journey home. If only we had that German ref for the Ukraine match hey Mick.

    And other clubs knew it😠
That final game against York, with both clubs having nowt to play for, and standing at 2-2.
And yet, in the last ten minutes even their goalie came up for corners because they knew we were likely to concede, and THEY WANTED A WIN.
    We were just not bothered

That was the match that changed it all in my opinion.

He lost his bottle after that and it became more about protecting his record than winning the league which we should have done comfortably.

That’s funny Alcy because up until the 55th minute in that said York game we were champions as it stands in play, nowt to play for, more like nowt between your lug holes Alcy, why has that season caused a memory block on some fans?.

And who took the title instead of us?

    Where are they now?

    Could we be joining them?

    Nope.
Chesterfield already had 81 points going into that game, and a far better gd
we were always going to miss out as champions.

It wasn’t the York game that lost us the championship, it was that long unbeaten run when we turned wins into draws, and even the York game we were 2-0 up.

Give up Alcy, 1 goal for Fleetwood and Chesterfield would have ended up with 82pts, 1 goal for scunny and we would have had 83pts, definitely nothing in-between them out lug holes, always in with a chance until the ref blew for time.

Have WG and Alcy disappeared?, Just a simple I got it wrong would have sufficed, but heho some people can’t except they were wrong, not that we should always do this, but it would have been nice especially when your trying to portray someone in a bad light by distorting history to make a point.
