With all the injuries I fear the worst though two of their players are out, 3-0 to Tranmere and just keep hoping the teams below keep dropping points because I can’t see us getting many more unless we get some players fit.
April 9, 2021 at 4:19 pm #204490Instead of a minutes silence tomorrow due to today’s news, the players should take the knee for a full minute just to remind everyone that racism is very much alive and should be challenged strongly whenever it rears it’s ugly head. Tranmere to win 2-0, we aren’t good enough end of.
April 9, 2021 at 6:19 pm #204501Can we insist of two minutes silence for Tranmere and one minute for us so we can get a shot on target?
April 9, 2021 at 6:55 pm #204503The silence for Prince Philip – is a must do.
The taking of the knee is achieving nothing.
I look forward to seeing his team selection, do I have any sympathy for Mr Cox – not in the slightest. We are in a mess even now and it is down to the master tactician who still sticks to a tried and tested format that delivers nothing.

So what will achieve something?
Or is the problem going to be ignored AGAIN?

April 10, 2021 at 8:46 am #204514Don’t know what would achieve anything, but I think we can all admit the knee gesture isn’t working. If anything there’s been more abuse on social media since it started. Today’s silence will be a one off and deserved, just as the knee should have been.
April 10, 2021 at 1:44 pm #204527The providers should make identification easy to do. Then report them and make them face legal action. They think they are invisible, some will be copycats but there will be some malicious ones and they are the ones that need dealing with.
April 10, 2021 at 2:11 pm #204529Decent team selection with what’s available.
Hope we aren’t rushing Taft or Kev back though.
And I hope McAtee is more bothered than he has been.

What a joke! People are sick to death of the woke libtards making everything about race and exposing their hatred of whites. This farce has carried on long enough. It is not about racial issues, we are all equal now, it’s about libtards self-hating and Marxism! BLM are a Marxist group who want to overthrow democracy and govern us according to their woke manifesto!

April 10, 2021 at 5:06 pm #204537Great point today and the under scrutiny players put in a shift, But also I have not seen a team (tranmere) that was so good in the dark arts of play.
They pushed, pulled, and dragged players off the pitch in challenges and always seemed to get away with it, definitely a game we would have lost earlier this season.April 10, 2021 at 5:08 pm #204538The teenager who died in pond his mother straight away brings the race card out blaming police for not acting as quick as would have been for a white child, instead she should be questioning herself to see if she could have done anything to prevent his death.

April 10, 2021 at 5:19 pm #204539Not a single player could possibly have got less than a six.
Great shift from Kev.
McAtee playing for a contract?
Best all round GK game I’ve seen by Rory since that brilliant match of his (Home to Carlisle?) He looks to have learned a lot. Great distance kicking; a couple of vital saves; not glued to his line. Compared well to Joe, on the day.
Maybe having Cordner in front of him alongside the old-style Bedeau who back then looked callow and uncertain – was a large part of his problems.Great graft from Gilliead and Hippo.
A well-earned point.
(I also loved the tactic where we gave them loads of set pieces which they could lift into the box so our CBs and GK could have some real match practice.)

April 10, 2021 at 5:22 pm #204540Good shift from the team today.
Great to see Watson have 2 good games in a week. Back 4 all had tidy games.
Midfield solid and KVV finally looking almost fit.
If the forums racist faction could feck off to non football then I would be a happy camper.

April 10, 2021 at 5:45 pm #204541We know BJ is a parody account but disappointed in Awaywego. What the hell a murder investigation has to do with Scunthorpe v Tranmere is beyond me.
Stayed out this afternoon so didn’t get back to buy a pass.
Looks like I caught the bad 0 – 0 last weekend, and missed the good one today.
More observations please chaps (on the game that is).
April 10, 2021 at 5:51 pm #204542If someone had just showed respect to the death of Prince Philip nothing would have been said, but no someone has to bring race into the conservation, for once I totally agree with BJ. Ps, who are the forums racist faction?
April 10, 2021 at 5:51 pm #204543Good result but I wouldn’t say it was a particularly good game. Rory made 1 save I think and I don’t think Joe made any? Although Sky has is at 3 on target each? Not a great deal of goalmouth action either end. But a point against a good team and as said a game we would’ve lost early on in the season.
How Clarke failed to put that in at the back post on 80 odd minutes is beyond me though. That should’ve lost us the match but would’ve been harsh.Hope Taft is ok and Beestin looked to be holding his groin at the end.
Good shift from everyone even McAtee worked hard but let himself down when subbed.
April 10, 2021 at 6:00 pm #204544What murder?, And like I said mum played the race card. Another clean sheet that’s 9 this season, all stands us in good stead for next season
April 10, 2021 at 6:03 pm #204545Enjoyed the game today and everyone put a good shift in and we deserved a point, I don’t think we had a man of the match but I would give everyone a 7, nobody played badly and seeing we had a patched up team and possibly a couple of players maybe wouldn’t have started and normally two more might have come off injured but stuck it out I have nothing but praise for the effort, even Rory kept a clean sheet and made one good save from a corner, was pleased with the referees performance seeing they were trying to get penalties but he wasn’t having it, no idea what was up with Eisa but it was great to see Joe Murphy back here and just a pity there wasn’t a crowd to give hive a ovation.

April 10, 2021 at 6:08 pm #204547Positives:
A hard working, industrious display; you cannot refute Cox motivates the players to put in a shift- they were absolutely knackered come full time.
Watson- another solid display, I’ve been impressed with him since his return, seems to have made a conscious effort to command his area more. An excellent stop from the corner too.
Clean Sheet.
Gillead in general.
Seeing Joe Murphy back at GP
Negatives:
Forward players too deep- Van Veen and Mcatee worked incredibly hard but I don’t want to see them linking up on the half way line. Peter Clarke had the turning circle of an oil tanker and we didn’t do enough to exploit that.
Not enough shots on goal again- another relatively simple afternoon for an opposition’s keeper. Need to create more.
Defending set pieces- I don’t know why this has suddenly become a thing, but we look petrified at defending corners all of a sudden.

April 10, 2021 at 6:15 pm #204550I would make Rory My m.o.m Not for any outstanding saves but for the confident way he dealt with all aspects of his job. A big improvement on some of his other performances, maybe there is a decent keeper in there afterall.

April 10, 2021 at 6:43 pm #204552According to Cox Eisa was ill.Good performance today- difficult to pick MOM but Watson looked secure
April 10, 2021 at 7:02 pm #204553Time for Cox to give others a run of game’s, Olimola especially he’s never had decent spell in the team.
April 10, 2021 at 8:21 pm #204556It was good to see the effort the team put in today and they did try to pass the ball a lot more. But I agree with CBRP about the forwards being too deep.
Most goals are scored in the box, but Kev, McAtee and Beestin hardly got in there. Just don’t understand why Van Veen is taking free kicks from 50 yards out just inside their half, especially when Mason is perfectly capable.

April 10, 2021 at 8:22 pm #204557Guess Ironawe will be indignant when they move next Saturdays game due to fallout from yesterday’s news.
April 10, 2021 at 8:39 pm #204558According to Cox Eisa was ill.
Did he mean ill or sick (sick of………….) Insert reason of choice.

April 10, 2021 at 9:23 pm #204559Well, thatwas a fighting show by the lads today, and the point gained against a very good team in Tranmere was good to watch, so why did they roll over like they did against Carlisle on Tuesday. Although we rode our luck at times it was a good reformance by the players, and how good is it to not be a nevouse wreck with Howard in goal, Watson should have madse the keeper position his for the last seven matches.
WATSON—-8—MOM performance and his positioning and ball handling was 1st class.
TAFT—8—Played very well and hope that he can keep fit and play for us next season.
BEDEAU—7—Did not let the team down and is improving each game.
GILLIEAD–7—Not as outstanding as normal, probably because his team mates played betteer.
KVV—6—Got through lots of wirk, shooting was pathetic and was living on a very short fuse.
HIPPOLYTE–6–Played his best game I can recall, keep it up, tired towards the end.
BEESTIN—7–Played ok, shooting not very good, but got involved throughout.
KARACAN—7—Hard man, and gets really stuck in.
HOWE–7—Another good game for him, he is good at supporting the forwards.
O’MALLEY—6—Played well enough, but overdoes it occasionly, a good prospect.
McATEE—7—Thought he had a better game, and got stuck in for a change, would not have subbed him.SUBS—6—Did not bring a lot to the game.
REF—9—-Was really a cracking ref and contributed to the game being flowing, would love to see him again.
COX—6—The team showed a lot of fight and did noy roll over and play 95% defesive rubbish, although the luck was with us, and our keeper kept us in the game whilst the Tram, ere keeper had an easy match, we must stop giving away so many corners and free kicks, although they were better dealt with by Watson, and we really do need to get players in the other teams box if we attack, one man in the box does not have a lot of chance of beating three defenders.
We are safe due to the three very poor teams in Grimsby, Southend and Coldhester who are all too far behind to catch us, but with five of our next six matches being away games, we need this good lead.

Well you would hope others could get an opportunity. I mean contracts are being offered so it may make decisions difficult. And as it is April announcements must be due regarding any acceptances.
