A government source told The Times: “This is an act of self-harm – a generation of passengers will just write off the railways. We’re talking about permanent scarring.”

Absolute tosh IMO. No matter how you feel about the week long train strike there’s no evidence for this. Agreed or not? Sensationalist scaremongering IMO.

And didn’t the same article say a generation would stop using the trains “forever”!

Total rubbish from the government’s client journalists in the Murdoch press.

Never mind that 500 people a day are dying due to the NHS being unable to cope. Effectively a plane crash every day by a government that’s supposed to protect its citizens. Just imagine the figure if Johnson hadn’t built those 40 new hospitals, or not had $350 million a week to spend on the NHS!

If they truly believed a large proportion of train users will stop using trains forever due to the strikes they’re clearly more out of touch than ever. It would show they don’t have a grasp of the population’s needs and options, supply and demand, etc. Just propaganda though.

Scunny barely gets a train service because of the Inept operator.

Aye, and ridiculously expensive fares too, if you want to go to London.
Much cheaper from Lincoln, if that’s an option.
