As one of the few West Country based Iron I’m now a bit more optimistic for this Saturday – just hope they don’t sack Gary Johnson before the game – as we all know what usually happens then!
Anyone travelling down be aware that the area is due for some wet and windy weather this weekend – so wrap up warm :)
Just for information Ex Iron Aaron Jarvis had his first 90 minutes for Torquay at Wrexham – think hes back from an injury so could be starting on Saturday. UTI

One story I heard from the 8-1 win, “Toppo” who went away in the “all mod cons” Toppo’s mad van”,went to the match with his wife and went shopping instead of going to the match. A true story ,told to me by one of his best mates.

Wonder is Spireiron will be there, or perhaps he’s found another team to ‘support’? No😜

Torquay game the first of 3 that involve teams down in our world.

Maximum points could start a revival of fortunes. Must not over complicate things. Do the basics right, attack them not wait to counter.

theres a blast from the past Toppos mad van .. i recall a guy called Skelly as well and Simmo who won the lottery .. i used to go to away games in a rented van with a regular group and had some brilliant days out.

Back to the present and IMO at the moment we are so inconsistant hence difficult to predict any result tho as previously mentioned our form when playing the bottom club(s) has been very poor.

for what its worth .. im going for a score draw 1-1

Skelly still a season ticket holder but rarely goes away, though they are think of resurrecting the van for a 2 nighter to Gateshead, sounds like you were a member of the Tvi.

Is this the Skelly who went to Fred Gough?

Not sure but i think Skelly did yes ..

I went away in a tranny van during the the mid 80s til the mid 90s .. lots of watter under the bridge since then and my old memory isnt great remembering the regular guys names who went…

memorable away days i can recall Nuneaton in the FA cup , Darlo , Hartlepool , Shrewsbury, and Wembley 1999 which was just before i left the UK… so i did miss “”the glory years””.

I do watch the Wembley final against Millwall quite often .. one of the best games ever and that Millwall goal by Alexander was a blinder.. great commentary as well

    NOT JUST ANY OLD IRON

It sounds as if we should have won that one?

    Rot stopped?

We might be out of the relegation zone next week?

LOL, we were well expected to win today.
They were rock bottom and shipped 6 last week.
Then we’re 1 down after four minutes.
Unless we learn to defend, and to concentrate, were going down again.

On target for a total of 37 points.
With four to go down, it won’t be enough.🙁

Will we win away from home ever again?

If we can’t beat the team bottom of the league who ship goals for fun then probably not!

Always take a point away from home, particularly following on from last week’s home win.

Yeah points away from home against bottom of the league are brilliant, especially when we’ve won once away from home in 37 or whatever it is games now. It’s going to have to be a team terrible beyond words for us to actually pick up 3 points off of them!

Well.i nailed the 1-1 prediction earkier in this thread but feel a but down as we cant beat another team who are bottom.of the league ala Halifax a week or so back.
Waiting foe the match report n the YT vids to see how we performed.

Butterfield’s lack of challenge when the ball was his to win cost us the first goal.

Did you have a bet on that result? Should have been decent odds for that.
