    Joined the coaching staff.

Not sure of the need for another member of back room staff when we’ve hardly got any players but he’s certainly the kind of personality we need.

Won’t accept any of the disinterested garbage we’ve seen over the last few years and will fire the rockets that Cox appears unable or unwilling to do.

Neil Cox- ” Hey Tony fancy filling in at full back/ right wing / midfield / etc etc this season. Think we might be a few players light “.

Tony McMahon – ” What the f**k, I came here to put my feet up like the rest of your coaching staff “!!! 😂

Wouldn’t be surprised to see him registered as a player, another defender as a coach seems unnecessary. Is the plan to attract young players from Darlo?

It’s a bloody joke. Nothing against McMahon but it’s players we need not more coaches !

Do the people at the club not realise it’s players we need ?

There’s supposed to be another coach coming in as well according to matt.

What the feck is going on ?

Appointing a high profile coach like McMahon could be designed to attract a higher calibre of player. Or maybe not, unless Eddie Howe is the other one.

Only for the 18s – but he has experience as assistant manager at Football league level

So we are a supposed contender for having the lowest budget of the whole league and we’re signing 2 additional coaches ?

Wouldn’t that be better spent on players ?

    Have to agree.
It does rather seem like the actions of a club looking to bring in a clutch of players, though. Otherwise, it is surely pointless.
Are we to assume that he will be registered and required to maintain fitness to a high level so as to be usable if required? (And with our history of player injuries …)

On a slightly different tack – are there coaches out there who possess a reputation for having fewer injuries to their charges than the norm and a lot fewer than what we seem to have? Coz if that applies to McMahon – I’d find that to be appealing thinking after our recent history.

TBF to McMahon he was a good defender when he was here if a little hot headed at times ( remember Rochdale away anybody? ) so if he coaches in training like he used to play, we may have half a dozen injured before we kick a ball in anger this coming season. 😂

    Hmm!

Ten games in, Cox and Lillis sacked, McMahon given manager’s job with new U18s coach as assistant.

    Method in the madness?

Scunny still relegated at end of season, McMahon sacked.
That sounds about right to me, also sounds familiar, sacking managers ad nauseam I mean.

A potential flaw in that plan. 10 games in, The Iron unbeaten and 4 points clear at the top leaves us overstaffed with coaches. Yeah, OK, maybe not.
