Apologies if this has already been discussed and I have missed it but does anyone know why its being played tonight and not tomorrow?

Great move by Turnbull. Going to be a much bigger crowd there tonight because of it being a Friday.

Seems to be a quid pro quo for moving the away game to Friday night as well:

If only, maybe he had a premonition when it was agreed early last October.

Why would the crowd be bigger because it’s a Friday?

Just seems to the case. Kick off time or it not eating into people’s weekend; I don’t know.

Wrexham at home in FA cup was well attended back in the early 00’s and Yeovil at home in 2006 was packed to the rafters and they opened up the away end.

Looking at current sales there could be 5k home fans there tonight. To put it into perspective, that’s more than there was for Rotherham at home in the league one play offs.

Didn’t Friday night games at the OSG get bigger gates, or am I imagining it?

Oh those nights at the OSG back in the 1960’s, the Iron netting a late winner and the skies lighting up that orangey/ red over Lysaght’s ( Normandy Park Works to you young un’s).

Reckon the league cup tie against Arsenal back in 68′ at the OSG brought in around 17000 odd, that was a night match.

Back then there were many local footballers who would be playing on Saturday afternoon, many of them would turn out to support The Iron on Friday Nights.

    7.15pm kick off.

To allow the guys working nights on the steelworks to attend the match and still make their shift ok.
