Would normally be the second biggest day for supporters of lower league teams. Fa cup 1st round draw day, all them hopes of a good local derby draw especially away, Then ending with alot of disappointment of late, just normally a special day for me anyway.
October 25, 2020 at 10:17 pm #196611Tomorrow….. should be the day we are ordered not to play for the next fortnight, this situation regarding our club and covid is beyond ridiculous.
October 26, 2020 at 12:02 am #196614Awaywego—-these are my thoughts mate, it used to be great listening to the A Cup draw on a Monday, somtimes from the car radio at work, a few times in places like Borneo, Java, Thailand etc but it was often after midnight out there, but always a special little window to look forward to, it was often rpunds 3, 4 and 5 then, but we seem to not reach those hights nowadays, but it was a thing to look forward to.
I think Iron-awe will be correct and cannot see us playing for a couple of weeks, andprobably more, because this bloodyvirus appears to be heading out of control.
October 26, 2020 at 9:38 am #196622The FA Cup has ceased to be a special competition.
Of the past years it’s tried and tested format has been whittled away but by bit at the behest of PL teams involved in Europe.
Firstly no second replays at neutral grounds (we can all remember at least one of those. V Hartlepool at Roker Park for me!) then penalty shootouts. Semi finals at Wembley, the final at stupid O’clock on a Saturday.
The European competitions obviously make more money than the FA Cup, because that’s what it’s about isn’t it? Money!
October 26, 2020 at 10:37 am #196624Giant club selfishness and big clubs pretending to be giants too.

I agree but without us having to face this situation, Beestin, Green and Rowe would never have got a chance,we certainly wouldn’t have found out that Taylor and Beestin are our best CM’s.
There was an injury under Laws for Torpey which means we tried Keogh and Sharp together and the rest was history.
I do however hope they make a speedy recovery. I’m sure they will, they’re all physically fit..it’s just the time we have to cope without them now.

The fans wouldn’t WG, that’s true. But the managers and coaches should be able to spot that during the bits we don’t see. Makes you wonder if, for some reason, the best players are not necessarily picked?
October 26, 2020 at 3:23 pm #196653Very true Ni,I remember scunny v Tranmere at Everton though I didn’t go to that one. Also can remember our part in history on the format that was whittled away.
October 26, 2020 at 4:48 pm #196658Don’t sing too loud Wondergoals, it was just one game, and aginst a team that had made seven changes, and just a reminder, WE LOST 3-1, we didn’t win the match.
And also looking back, Hippolyte had a really good game in his first match, he has been dog shite in his games since, the old saying “one swallow doesn’t make a summer”.
Lets just hope things omprove vastly and very soon, but I admire some of you guys looking on the bright side of things whilst I am very worried at the present sitution.
October 26, 2020 at 4:54 pm #196659My best FA Cup memory was being at Newcastle Utd in 1957 when we beat then 3-1, we were in the old 3rd div north those days, also a font memory was at Sheff Wed when we beat them, two lasting memories. It would be a bonus these days to reach round three when the big clubs enter.
