Doing well at Hereford. Seems an automatic for the team sheet and gradually got to 4th in the league.
Now fully match fit and benefitting from regular starts.
December 26, 2023 at 8:37 pm #278450Super!
December 26, 2023 at 8:49 pm #278451Let’s hope they like him enough to buy him then.

I was thinking more along the lines of leaving him out on loan with the call back option in place as a replacement option for Clunan. I like Shrimpton but rather have Pugh covering.
Jenkins will end up going back to Leeds.

December 26, 2023 at 9:35 pm #278453Great for the lad.
Never seen anything to suggest he is worthy of being a regular in the iron shirt though

Dean made a comment on Pugh when asked about his form not long back and he said there won’t be many better CM’S at this level than a fully fit Pugh so he obviously rates him.
Gone down a storm at Hereford and they’re up to 4th so he must be doing something right.

December 27, 2023 at 11:53 am #278468It hasn’t been confirmed that Smith is staying so Tom Pugh may get recalled as I am sure budget constraints may be in force. Tom is a good lad and will do the job given in midfield. Playing him at FB was not a good idea.

December 27, 2023 at 4:18 pm #278476I hope he does well. Worked hard when I saw him play.
The standard overall in this league feels light years behind the national league. I don’t think he’s good enough to play there which is where I expect us to be next year.
December 27, 2023 at 5:00 pm #278477But CBRP where will our budget be ?
This board have to target stability as a priority so what we may need and what can afford could differ. So I would like for fighters who give 100% – thought Jai Rowe was a battler and it hurt him when he saw some not taking defeat seriously. I put Tom in that category.
Patience will be a priority for sure. If we get promoted is their any monies due from the National League ?
December 27, 2023 at 6:07 pm #278480Fully agree Sanfran. The irony is we will probably start a season in the national league IF we get promoted with a weaker squad than we have now.
I’d imagine the likes of Kian Scales aren’t on a mind boggling sum and that’s the type of player I’d prefer to have then Tom.
I also thought Jai gave it everything here, but again, he was part of one of the worst squads in our history that dropped out the national league and is probably more suited to this level.
December 27, 2023 at 6:34 pm #278482The budget for next season has already been set and agreed according to Humberside and Dean has already said he’s happy with it because I heard the interview a couple of weeks back when he said that. TBF he’s not going to say it’s bollocks is he even if he’s maybe thinking that, it’s wait and see for us lot on that one, let’s get promoted first.

Next season’s budget has already been set taking into account the financial plan set in place to clear the debt according to the report on Humberside at the time Dean spoke about next seasons budget.
December 27, 2023 at 9:37 pm #278486Seems like Pugh has been coached better then before????

I know the budget has been set. And the level will be known when the retained list is released.
December 28, 2023 at 10:27 am #278489Need to be talking to some players/agents in January to agree reduced terms for next season. A significant reduction for some should still be attractive in NL/NLN.

Agreed… but how do you sell that one?

Sembie Ferris will be recalled as a direct replacement. Pugh has his strengths but his blistering wing play isn’t one of them. On a more serious note Ferris has netted 5 times for his loan club and he’s in good form himself.
December 28, 2023 at 2:42 pm #278506Would DSF get that left sided attacking spot in front of Beestin or Wilson? On the right he’d be behind Roberts and Law. Can we afford 3 options in any position?
December 28, 2023 at 2:50 pm #278508If we let go of some of the high earners they’ll find other clubs soon enough. i heard on the radio Saturday Dylan Mottley Henry(Who got the winner for Shields in the Cup last season)has turned up at Buxton, he’s also played in Northern Ireland for Larne. Didn’t they have Curtis Weston too?

Not sure why we seem to need 3 players for every position. More than enough depth especially with Beestin coming back.
DSF has done well, hopefully sports can afford to take him off our hands

Yes it is unfortunate but with our club in difficult financial times then players who play must deliver on a regular basis, I am guessing Andy felt he was surplus to requirements compared to Shrimpton, time will tell but Andy has my full support on his choice of who stays and who goes.
