Not on the SUFC website but it is reported on BBC local news that Pugh is out for the season
February 17, 2022 at 2:35 pm #232157Needs knee surgery.
February 17, 2022 at 2:57 pm #232159Luckier then some on here who need brain surgery.

February 17, 2022 at 3:34 pm #232160Recall Cam Wilson from his loan and put him in.
Don’t understand why he isn’t in the squad, better than Hackney.

February 17, 2022 at 4:02 pm #232162I don’t think he’s better then Hackney yet but it’s all about opinion. Hills opinion was he wanted to keep Hackney over Wood on loan even when serving a six match suspension and he was happy for Wilson to go out on a loan that has been extended to a season long loan quite recently. I will go with Hills judgement, I believe Hackney is available again this weekend, let’s see how that pans out.
February 17, 2022 at 5:07 pm #232165I feel sorry for Pugh but I’m not sure it will make too much difference to the team.

February 17, 2022 at 7:11 pm #232171Pugh is a young lad who’s time will come again after this latest injury setback. The window has given us more experienced options to more then take care of Pughs contributions, he wasn’t even getting in the side that regular of late anyway. Wish the lad well and hopefully see him back in an Iron shirt next season, he has great potential.

February 18, 2022 at 5:01 am #232178I still think not recalling Wilson was a bit daft. Why wouldn’t you want to keep a young, quick and direct runner who can play right wing when we only have Feeney who’s a natural in that position ?
Bit off topic but I’d like 4/4/2 against Rochdale. Hackney and Grant in CM feeney and sinclair out wide, nuttall and burns through the middle with Lewis LB and the other 3 left as they were.
Hill needs to let them of the leash and play in the style how he did at Rochdale, get plenty of balls in the box…play direct and work for the knock downs.
Why not have a good go ?. I suspect we may be down already anyway.

February 18, 2022 at 9:24 am #232185I think you made a mistake with “the other 3 as they were” when Matheson was at RB. Millen to RB certainly.
Thompson was on the bench last week so might get a start.
I don’t think Feeney still has enough pace for an out and out winger, much better in a 3 playing in front of Grant.
Not seen enough from Sinclair to pick him in front of Lewis.
Burns definitely, not decided between Nuttall & Pyke yet, both have plenty to prove.
Big problem is that last week Hill said something along the lines of “Rowe will always play for me.” Can’t have both Grant & Rowe in CM IMO, not enough creativity.February 19, 2022 at 9:28 am #232214Hill does appear to rate work rate and attitude above actual ability, which is a tad worrying. I don’t want Matheson anywhere near either…he makes Millen look like Cafu
February 19, 2022 at 9:38 am #232215Do you mean SNAFU?
February 19, 2022 at 9:48 am #232218Think he means Kung fu.

Think it’s because we don’t actually use wingers!
Which is a stupid approach to be honest… crying out for width EVERY game.
February 19, 2022 at 1:25 pm #232232We probably don’t play wingers because apart from a couple of promising but inexperienced youngsters we don’t have any.
Hill might have been able to bring a couple to the club in January if we had not been devoid of centre forwards, midfielders and centre backs that were halfway to competent.

But to be honest we don’t have experienced strikers or in any other position but we still play them?
