Think he speaks excellently, very honest and on the ball with his comments, best co commentator I’ve heard humberside have on.
Agree he’s pretty good but not quite as good as George yet, not as anecdotal and no train updates.
First time I’ve heard him but I thought he was pretty poor, seems to only be able to talk about running & “hard work”. Nothing else seems to occur to him like confidence, skill, vision, organisation.
Basically, he commentates like he played.
I thought he was very good, honest opinion throughout.
I watched it so didn’t need the commentary to follow the game but if I’d been only listening I wouldn’t be too happy. He tends to give several treatises on football for several minutes while the ball is in play and Mike White joins in as he feels he needs to agree. He may talk sense but If I’m listening I want to know who’s got the ball and what they’re doing with it, even if it is only kicking it to the opposition.
I watched it,he commentating on the ifollow wasn’t he?or at least my ifollow had the humberside commentary accompanying it
Anybody who tells the simple, plain truth these days need commending. Newey at times rambles a little bit from time to time but least he’s honest.
Very good but Fallon was even better.
I don’t understand praise of being “honest”, what does that mean? Are you expecting a summariser who tells us we’re 4-0 up and haven’t conceded a penalty for 6 months?

Agreed, he really belabours the point at times, it’s really boring!
