On the way to Scunny in January apparently.
November 8, 2021 at 7:43 am #217421Certainly, not good enough for the Championship.
Had a great history with Gillingham.
Young enough.
Probably not a crock.
Isn’t he a bit too good for us to sign, IK?Loan til the season’s end?
It would certainly signal a really positive effort to avoid the drop from PS.
Just doesn’t quite sound right, somehow.

November 8, 2021 at 8:27 am #217425Agree Les but I hope we’re wrong.
Would imagine all league 2 sides, half of the league 1 sides and the monied half dozen National league sides would all be in the queue for him.
Allegedly all of the above have bigger budgets than us.

Probably not a crock.Mate of mine at Hull reckons he is, probably knows Bunn and been told it’s an easy life here. Dropping 2 divisions looks unlikely.

November 8, 2021 at 9:37 am #217434Maybe the McCann- Byrne link ( if they are still there of course ) may assist us with a loan deal, as for money that’s up to you know who. Bit of an old chestnut this Eaves thing, weren’t we allegedly keen on him back in the league one days? Certainly good enough what I saw of him back then.
November 8, 2021 at 11:41 am #217439Can’t see it happening but would be a very good signing if true. Loan deal or permanent ?
November 8, 2021 at 12:12 pm #217440Whoever the manager looks at will be an investment. Therefore priority will be fitness and injury record, you know what we are like for recruiting ones with limps !!

November 8, 2021 at 12:31 pm #217441Allegedly he turned a move down at the start of the season to fight for his place, aka the two year deal he was offered elsewhere was equivalent to the one year he had left on his present deal. A whole hearted player that is often fouled with the ref giving nothing, oh and he has the first touch of a sideboard, his second touch is usually him making a tackle. 🙂
November 8, 2021 at 1:13 pm #217445Does not work too well in the Championship TW but quite useful at the arse end of League 2. Sounds like Loft but he does not always bother with the tackling bit.
Always gave us a hard time when he was at Gillingham. Worked like a dog and seemed to enjoy the scrap. 10 goals a season man rather than 20 but we would kill for a 10 a season man now
November 8, 2021 at 3:14 pm #217450Have a look how many times he’s got 10 in a season MK.
November 8, 2021 at 4:43 pm #217453Good spot Cass. Cracking goal scoring record for Gills though which is where I remember him from.
He is a player you have to set the team up to suit him. Like all old style centre forwards he won’t work in a team that try to pass the ball.
Should do well here then.
November 8, 2021 at 5:50 pm #217462Loft swap deal maybe? Had interest already in Loft and maybe he has started to drift with recent performances
November 8, 2021 at 6:49 pm #217469I still think Loft could prove to be a decent player but he’s not there yet. How there can be interest from other teams based on what we’re currently seeing just amazes me. A massive leap of faith from any manager who thinks he’s a Championship striker or has the potential to become one.

Ditto for 10 a season. 😊
November 8, 2021 at 11:42 pm #217492I would rather see one of Tom Eaves old boots with a sawn off broom shaft sticking out the top and a sock on it than watch O’no Neill meander around the grass area like a Neanderthal cow on a double dose of diazepam washed down with gin.

November 9, 2021 at 12:33 am #217495Bit hard to believe we’d bag Eaves but on paper he’d be the Hill speciality Big N Nasty.
November 9, 2021 at 1:10 am #217500Hes been about a bit this Eaves fella

I would be stunned if Loft goes that far up the leagues when he leaves us.

November 9, 2021 at 5:17 pm #217557I agree Ferrite – I see nothing in him to suggest he would make it in the higher leagues – but then I thought Charlie Goode was a donkey so I’m fairly consistent at getting stuff wrong!

November 9, 2021 at 5:23 pm #217558Charlie did give away a penalty about 30 seconds into his Premiership debut so maybe not such a bad judge IA.

…..yes then had a shot late on that almost cleared the stand at the back of the goal, guess some things never change whatever the standard.
November 9, 2021 at 10:50 pm #217597Don’t think Brentford would play Charlie if he wasn’t good enough! Always felt sorry for Charlie as he took the flak for the bad results when others were worse then him.

November 10, 2021 at 12:59 am #217603Agree. I always thought Goode had something about him, good in the air, carried pace and was fairly mobile.
The only Swann project to come good and somebody else profited.
November 10, 2021 at 8:43 am #217606it is funny with our relegation season with defenders, McArdle had a nightmare season but looked good at Exeter, Goode and Burgess had the jitters at times and Charlie did really well at Northampton, Burgess had a good spell at Salford and a tremendous time at Accrington who then sold him for a large fee to Ipswich, very strange in their last season here they all had a lot of bad games.

November 10, 2021 at 9:34 am #217609Very strange.
Aye.November 10, 2021 at 9:35 am #217610I’m sure one of our resident statisticians could map out the talent we’ve had and let go over the past 10 years. Such an incredible waste of talent and value. Any business leader who knows anything about human capital, talent development, retention, and added value (unlike our self proclaimed guru Ernest Prawn ) would be appalled, and lose their job with this track record. Anyone remember Matt Godden playing for Brigg Town ?
Where are they now Ernest ? ……………….1 user thanked author for this post.
November 10, 2021 at 10:53 am #217616You can add Kyle Wootton to the list.
November 10, 2021 at 10:56 am #217617So many fans on that guy’s back when his only real problem was being played out of position 80% of the time.
November 10, 2021 at 11:11 am #217619Add George Miller to the list 7 goals in 10 games for Walsall, Some disliked him so much they didn’t want to credit him with the goal he did score.
November 10, 2021 at 12:27 pm #217628How time and hindsight improves the rose tint on those specs. Godden, Wootton & Goode had plenty of chances here and did little to impress. Arguably both Godden & Wootton were lucky to get the contract extensions they did. Godden eventually found his touch and Wootton his level. Goode has improved from donkey to passable L1 CB. No doubt those calling for the moving on of Hallam, KDT, Green, O’Neil et al will be claiming we made a big mistake letting them go in the unlikely event that they come good elsewhere.
