Swann not changed, still selling snake oil.
Time to roll out a few protests, get the papers, Sky and the BBC interested.
We really are drinking in the Last Chance Saloon now.1 user thanked author for this post.
January 10, 2022 at 9:31 am #221064Or you could stop going to matches, oop’s you already have done, maybe you could go to a game and protest that would be novel.
January 10, 2022 at 9:39 am #221069I’ve decided on my protest and haven’t deviated or been fooled by any snake oil salesmen.
Have you?January 10, 2022 at 9:58 am #221072Quite funny to see alcy claim to not be fooled by snake oil salesmen, when the non football forum is bursting with snake oil salesmen videos that alcy has posted and swallowed blindly.

January 10, 2022 at 11:25 am #221091Or Awaywego you could show some passion for Scunthorpe United and prove you are a true supporter and show just how much our league status means to you. There are supporters like us who have been for the last sixty years or so, true supporters, who will be absolutely devastated if we drop out of the league. We are talking of 70 odd years of league status and history to be wiped out by one man who has dessicated our Club. This is why we should have demonstrations. If this were happening to most clubs there would be. Are you a spin-off of uti99.

You were right first time because we are being run by an utter coconut, pardon my dry humour.

January 10, 2022 at 12:45 pm #221104Dessicated still works:
1. having had all moisture removed; dried out.
“the withered, desiccated landscape”2. lacking vitality or interest.
“a desiccated history of ideas”1 user thanked author for this post.
January 10, 2022 at 1:21 pm #221106Who the f are you NLI to say who are true supporters, just because your old doesn’t mean your wise, my passion will never be diminished no matter what league we’re in, be thankful your in the winter stage of your life and won’t be round to be devastated for to long now, I feel sorry for my grandkids if it happens, not some old codger like you who’s seen the good times.

Muahahaha.
The videos I post mostly show up the snake oil of covid, marxism and climate change.
You covid cowards will believe owt.January 10, 2022 at 1:45 pm #221111Who the f are you NLI to say who are true supporters, just because your old doesn’t mean your wise, my passion will never be diminished no matter what league we’re in, be thankful your in the winter stage of your life and won’t be round to be devastated for to long now, I feel sorry for my grandkids if it happens, not some old codger like you who’s seen the good times.
One of the most disgusting posts it has ever been my misfortune to read.
Taxi for awaywego, please.

January 10, 2022 at 6:23 pm #221134Your a strange lot, my post not very nice? And yet NLI questions who is a true supporter and gets away with it very strange indeed. Heho.
January 10, 2022 at 7:03 pm #221140It’s like telling an old person that he should be glad that he will be dead soon. That is not nice, and trust me, I can do nasty. I just know here and when to draw the line.

January 10, 2022 at 7:24 pm #221145Already done that with BS. And NLIs post? telling some posters that they aren’t true supporters, imagine your indignation if swanny had said that,at least we’ve only been called morons not true fans.
January 10, 2022 at 7:40 pm #221147What ever demo you do it will mean absolutely nothing to him !!
Many years ago thousands stopped attending after the chairman ordered the sale of Barry Thomas – they never returned to this day. Initially I thought demonstration would be short lived and having made their point they would return – they did not. This season after many seasons I called it a day and I it is easy to say I have no intention of returning based on recent statements by Mr Swann.
I don’t believe him, and that is 100% his fault.

January 10, 2022 at 7:49 pm #221148Give Swann till end of this week, if nobody else comes in then something needs to be done because we we’re definitely going down.
This is the same penis who said 3 weeks ago he consider paying the EFL loan off to get us out of the embargo, only to then go back on it and not bother even though we’re literally hanging by a thread.
I suspect he never had any intention of playing it off and just paid lip service so he didn’t get abuse hurled at him.
This bloke is an absolute disgrace, as I said above…give him till end of this week and if nothing is done, he really needs to get both barrels from all fans from all angles. Internet, on match days, radio and everywhere else he can be reached.
Swann is single handedly on the verge of completely wrecking the club.

January 10, 2022 at 7:55 pm #221150January 10, 2022 at 7:58 pm #221153This thread optimises why most scunny united fans don’t participate on the forum anymore.
Not only do we have a terrible chairman but many of the fans on here are pretty terrible people too. Please elaborate !

January 10, 2022 at 8:18 pm #221156Most scunny fans = the majority of scunny fans don’t participate on this forum.
Terrible chairman = Peter Swann who currently owns the ground through his business and has us sat in 23rd in the league – before he came along Scunthorpe United owned its own ground.
Terrible fans = fans which constantly bicker, saying unsporting stuff to one and thus falling out in public with each other on this forum.January 10, 2022 at 8:32 pm #221159Terrible fans = fans which constantly bicker, saying unsporting stuff to one and thus falling out in public with each other on this forum.
This goes on, on nearly every football forum up and down the country, if you don’t believe me then take a look.
What do you expect exactly, everybody to be best friends, to then meet up in public and go skipping down the road with one another ?
This is a worrying time as the clubs about to completely sink with a chairman at the club who looks like he doesn’t give a shit. I’m worried as is everybody else, as it’s a difficult time for all of us.
Football forums are about people airing their views and like in the real world, not everybody will agree with you, that’s just a part of life.
I don’t give a stuff if people disagree with each other on every single little thing, I’m more preoccupied on worrying about the future of the club.

January 10, 2022 at 8:45 pm #221160Wondergoals for clarity i agree with everything you have said. I just think alot of the comments on here are aimed at one another and not about the football club itself.
January 10, 2022 at 9:00 pm #221162Following the discontent from the Harrogate game- culminating in the locking of the gate- Swann played a blinder by arranging the season ticket/shareholder holder meetings and consequently putting the brakes on anything substantial happening.
I expect things will turn ugly at the end of the season when the inevitable happens; Scunthorpe fans aren’t the most partisan out there but there’s a-lot of bad feeling at the moment and something will have to give.
January 10, 2022 at 9:20 pm #221165I just think a lot of the comments on here are aimed at one another and not about the football club itself.
I agree, that often stems from disagreeing with each other. Nit picking goes on up and down the country though on most football forums.
Swann played a blinder by arranging the season ticket/shareholder holder meetings and consequently putting the brakes on anything substantial happening.
It worked a treat. He suggested he’d pay the EFL loan up and that he would sufficiently strengthen the squad and has done neither.
Swann came across as passionate sounded like he was up for putting a real effort in to save the club. I was one of the gullible idiots that bought it.
January 10, 2022 at 11:14 pm #221176Who the f are you NLI to say who are true supporters, just because your old doesn’t mean your wise, my passion will never be diminished no matter what league we’re in, be thankful your in the winter stage of your life and won’t be round to be devastated for to long now, I feel sorry for my grandkids if it happens, not some old codger like you who’s seen the good times.
Awaywego—-That is a terrible piece that you have written on this forum, just because NLI is getting on inyears like myself and many other SUF supporters, does not deserve the disrespect that you have shown him, but it seems to be the in thing with one or two on here, I have had it drummed into me a few times by Iron-awe, when he says you havn’t much longer with us tic tock tic tock/ what a spineless statement to make, but I did not expect it from you Awaywego.
All NLI said was that he thinks that supporters should be strongly protesting regards the club heading into non league football, whilt you are slagging him off and saying that it doesn’t matter a toss to you, what league we are playing in. Please note that NLI has got 5 “THANKS”, whilst you have “ZERO THANKS” for your disrespectful comments, not even a THANKS from the FORUM SIX.
Age is like death Awaywego, it cannot be avoided mate, so please rethink before you repeat a statement like that pal, I am sure that you did not really mean what you said, and I fully understand NLI putting eactly what he stated, many others and myself fully agree with him, because Mr Swann has constantly stated what he would do, but not one single thing has come true, and I feel stupid for giving him my full backing for over 5 bloody years, but at the end of the day our club have:-
NO NEW GROUND.
NO REFURBISHMENT OF GP.
NO 160 APARTMENTS.
A DEBT OF OVER £12 MILLION POUNDS.
PLUS ANOTHER FA LOAN OF 1 OR 1.5 MILLION POUNDS WHICH HAVE RESULTED IN A LEAGUE EMBARGO.
NO CHAMPIONSHIP LEAGUE OR EVEN LEAGUE 1 MEMBERSHIP.
NO LEAGUE STARDARD PLAYERS OR TEAM.
NO 4,000 SUPPORTERS AT MATCHES.
NO LONGER OWN OUR OWN GROUND (ITS RETURN TO THE CLUB WILL PROBABLY THE LAST FAILED DEED).
NO FOOTBALL LEAGUE STATUS AFTER MAY 2022.
ALL THIS AFTER THREE WORST YEARS OF FOOTBALL EVER SERVED UP BY OUR ONCE GREAT LITTLE CLUB.4 users thanked author for this post.
January 11, 2022 at 11:27 am #221220You didn’t expect that from me BS ,I was the one who wished you dead for fs sake, As for NLI he disrespected YOU, I mean you can’t be a true supporter if your not attending games can you when we all know that’s not the case, you don’t have to attend games to be a true supporter, sure even Alcys a supporter even though I’ve never seen anything positive from him, just really hate someone who thinks there a better supporter than anyone else. I don’t come on here to be liked I just like have some banter and put my points across, make people smile, cringe, dislike whatever.
January 11, 2022 at 1:18 pm #221238OK Awaywego—-It really does not come over much better than the original posting, I am still living at the present time pal, but I don’t think that you really meant what you said.
I would never ever attack a young supporter that has only supporte the club for a short time, the club certainly needs such fans, but to attack fans just because they are getting on in life is not good for anyone, surely you agree!!I consider myself as a true supporter what ever you say, surely after attending from day one in the football league in 1951, and actually going to every match possible ever since, obviously whilst working overseas this was not possible, but thinking back to times of sitting up till 03-00 in the morning in places like Borneo and East Java watching computer updates, made me a bit of a fan!!, but I fully respect any new supporter be it 6 years or 60 years of age, even if they are attending their first game. The two reasons I have not renewed my season ticket, firstly because of the rubbish unenjoyable so called football on offer under Cox, and secondly with being 80 now, it is not easy getting from the car park to my Cluggy Stand usual seat, and winter does not help a lot. Anyway you have your views Awaywego and I respect them, even if I do not agree when you assume you should slag people off for being old, but being an attending supporter for 70 years since lining up on Henderson Avenue aged 11 for my first ticket, surely you agree that I and many others are true SUFC fans.

January 11, 2022 at 1:45 pm #221240BS – you forgot to mention legal action against supporters
banning food and drink without telling the fans
Hokey Cokey with catering in/out house
Falling out with everybody in local govt.
Banning journalists
Hiring useless CEO (JR)
Hiring junior to bring players in
Criticising previous owner..this list without thinking about it – god knows how long the list would be if I thought about it
