When I said we were going in the direction of a totalitarian state, the truth in the last few days confirm this. As a Christian giving my views of the sufficiency of Scripture for how we should live our lives, will be met with punishment. Unable to pray and a Christian worldview will be deemed a crime and not aligning to a Secular worldview will not be tolerated.

Life’s really tough for you living in the UK isn’t it. It could be worse though. You could be a Moslem living on the west bank or Gaza. Or a minority religious group in multiple places around the world.

When your suffering meets that level, I might have a tad of sympathy for you.

But you’re still able to go the footy, the pub, travel outside of Scunny and pray in any church where you haven’t fallen out with the lefty vicar.

And vote for Farage if you really must.

‘When I said we were going in the direction of a totalitarian state,’

…You actually meant ‘States’, the USA? To join Putin’s Russia to demonstrate how a country should be run

    Thought Police?

Like the inquisitions of the Counter Reformation?

You should write a dystopian sci-fi novel BPG. I’d read it.

In fairness to Bill, plod are out of control and order when it comes to things like street preachers. Several have been arrested, or threatened with arrest for preaching verbatim from their bible. Anyone that doesn’t recognise two tiered policing exists hasn’t viewed the YouTube videos that are out there.

No use asking me, I’m just a patsy. They were spouting tripe but have a perfect right to do so, and plod should keep their noses out.

TwoWrights-“They were spouting tripe but have a perfect right to do so, and plod should keep their noses out.”
Unfortunately this is far from the case.
Mahyar Tousi is due for a visit to the plod today. The outcome will be very interesting. The way the totalitarian state is taking shape the result is a forgone conclusion.Worrying times.

From what I gather they’ve told him to attend the police station tomorrow. No way should he go, never ever attend a ‘voluntary’ police interview.

Tousi situation came to nothing …so not a foregone conclusion after all. I’m very concerned at some of the trends we’re seeing … especially where justice seems to have lost its blindfold and people appear to be receiving draconian penalties as an example rather than on precedent.
My suspicion regarding Tousi is that they wanted to talk about his security as such an easily recognised/targeted figure and the difficulties surrounding ‘policing’ that reality. I could be wrong … but this is a volatile and rapidly changing world and the benefit of the doubt ain’t necessarily wrong.

For one, JI said after that he could be wrong, so wasn’t dogmatically claiming he was right and could never be wrong. Not sure where the gloat is there, because JI could say he acknowledged that he wasn’t certain.

I’m concerned about Govt ‘over reach’ and therefore about how the Police interpret and enforce ‘policy.’ On the other hand the whole social media phenomenon is such a recent arrival that issues of free speech and keeping order are still being worked out. Some big ‘mistakes are being made .. but we don’t want to rush to judgment at every opportunity.
Bill’s response to me I don’t take personally. There might be a bit of a hangover from past ‘difficulties’.. but generally I just think he has a very black and white approach and doesn’t always see how provocative some of his word choices come across. I definitely have some concerns as to how people like Tousi .. and others who don’t reflect prevailing narratives.. will be treated in the future. Maybe the UK will be a better place when all ‘deniers’ and ‘far right, racist, bigots’ and ‘misogynsts’ and ‘homophobes’ and other sundry purveyors of ‘disinformation’ have been locked up. But I don’t think so. They’ll have to let out a whole lot more burglars, muggers and violent abusers to make room and still be building more gaols.

ps I haven’t seen the video about Tousi, Bill. I will definitely be interested to look. And if it changes my perspective I won’t be embarrassed or think I’ve made a fool of myself. I’ll be happy that I’ve got nearer to the truth and had my thinking developed a bit.

I don’t think racists, homophobes, misogynists or denialists should be imprisoned. Only things like calls to violence/arson should be investigated imo, and I don’t think Tousi has done that. However, some people think others may be racists, homophobes, misogynists or denialists, and less of the hurt feelings and outrage from some of the right is in order when that happens. I am a bit weary of outrage from all sides.

Thanks for alerting me to the Tousi clip, BPG. What do I take from it? A mixture.
First it seems to me that I was fair to say that the Met are struggling. Not enough resources to give personal protection. Not clear enough on exactly what their responsibilities are. It’s inexcusable to me that they are repeatedly taking the easier route because of the size of these ongoing Islamic/progressive demos. The Tousis of this world are more easily monitored and ‘advised’ when resources are so stretched. I understand it but don’t accept it. Clearer policy decisions should be made by the Govt and resources mobilised to ensure compliance.
The leak is serious. Doxxing in this case is life threatening. I’m glad that the Met have informed him and are investigating. Every large organisation has rogues and a level of corruption. The test ..as Tousi says ..is how seriously this is pursued. Someone needs sacking and how this unfolds will affect my view of how far the rot has developed in the Met. I’ll watch with interest.

… and so, Bill, you’ve no need to despair and maybe my reflections could be treated with a bit of respect after all?
