The way he has been playing of late will almost certainly see some bigger clubs come in for our goalie. An offer we can’t turn down, nor will we stand in the way of his progress.
I hope not, but his improvements will be taken notice of.

October 23, 2021 at 6:31 pm #216349Not at least by those in the stands.
I thought he was excellent again today, 2 crucial saves in the first half and an excellent command of his area. Muzzy has clearly improved his game which is good to see.

October 23, 2021 at 6:44 pm #216350I agree wholeheartedly – having always tried to support Rory, even when some wanted him hanged by the goolies til blue-faced.
I may also have been the only person to support Hippo who was due to face ritual evisceration.
A few fans seem to enjoy and wallow in failure. Players need encouragement whenever possible.
There are players in this squad who are young and inexperienced – often slammed but they are developing.9 users thanked author for this post.
October 24, 2021 at 12:15 am #216377Hard to choose MoM today. Probably Watson. Maybe Hippo. Possibly Onariase. Personally … Pugh.
October 24, 2021 at 12:41 am #216378Best player this season so far

October 24, 2021 at 9:16 am #216382Cox said the same after the game.
Is he out of contract in the summer? Does anyone know who else is? Ideally we need to be offering some players a new contract now. I don’t know if they’re all out of contract but these need a 2 year deal:
Watson
Pugh
Thompson
Loft
Beestin

October 24, 2021 at 9:28 am #216383Rory always has made brilliant saves, but he has always made big gaffs as well and defenders have given the impression they don’t trust him and it has knocked their form.
this season he has been the biggest plus overall, he is still making the saves, but has cut out the errors so now the defenders are trusting him more so is certainly our most consistent player.
regarding MOM yesterday, Rory first half, Pugh overall, but great performances from Hackney and Hippolyte in which he certainly looks better in central midfield.
regarding out of contracts, didn’t Beestin sign a new 2 year contract just before the end of last season.
October 24, 2021 at 9:49 am #216386Was also nice to see Rory coming off his line to collect balls in the air and punch others clear, he is such an improved keeper this season and unsurprisingly the talk of a loan keeper to replace him has evaporated from this board, that’s purely down to Rorys form, well done lad good on ya.
October 24, 2021 at 9:53 am #216387Please don’t bring up contract negotiation.
Last time players wanted contracts sorted early, Swann cocked it up and put a couple of player’s backs up.
We don’t want that again. And it would be for the same reason, although last time we were probably going up, not down.
October 24, 2021 at 11:45 am #216392Maybe Turan will come good if we give him time, another 2 year contract?, glad Rory is playing well though.
October 24, 2021 at 2:22 pm #216402The loanee keeper isn’t back yet !
October 24, 2021 at 3:33 pm #216403They can’t bring him back until January

Well unless Rory suffers a massive collapse in form would Coventry allow their keeper to come back and just bench warm? because that is what should happen if he returns.
October 24, 2021 at 8:22 pm #216415Watson’s form is incredible really taking into consideration how dodgy he used to look. I never saw it coming, got to be honest.
Now he’s looking commanding, collecting balls and is decisive now when coming off his line. I don’t quite know how it’s happened but he’s morphed somehow into a “much, much younger” Paul Musselwhite.
Then you have Hippolyte who’s useless out wide, dodgy as a LWB/LB, questionable as an attacking midfielder in the number 10 role but somehow looks comfortable and at home in CM.
Stranger still is how Cox marked Pugh as a RB ?
The man is an absolute maniac. I dare say Pugh looks the DCM which we needed to come in from the off. The way Kenyon looked in those games he played was how Pugh would look if he carried on playing with a severe leg injury.
I hope to god Cox doesn’t piss around with the team again and take Pugh out of that role once Kenyon is fit. I know he’s not far off now.
I’m dreading the day when he’s match fit. Cox changed the team last time we looked like we were starting to turn a corner and fecked everything up.

Match practice?
He’s probably seen more of the ball than any other player this season.
October 24, 2021 at 11:14 pm #216421Be saying for a while now that Rory is a much improved keeper, he has improved his kicking, comes for balls and commands his area now.
It’s a bit to soon to say higher division clubs are looking but if he carries on has he is and we get a defence that can protect better (which will help the club as well) he will surely move up the leagues.October 24, 2021 at 11:15 pm #216422To be fair to hippolyte he was very good yesterday and had his best game for us.
October 24, 2021 at 11:18 pm #216423Keenan turan’s car was parked next to me yesterday so looks like he is back at the club or injured, unfortunately for him I can’t see ever pulling on a Scunthorpe shirt again and not sure how he has done at Stockport.

Watson’s had a run of games before but was absolutely awful. I guess something just must have clicked with him mentally.
All due to Bilson picking up that injury.
October 25, 2021 at 11:35 am #216435Wonder as we know players thrive when confidence his high, Rory was in and out so much it was no surprise he hadn’t fulfilled his potential.
He is still very young for a keeper and i’am sure he will get better given the run in the team he is getting, if bilson comes back i’am he will add competition to Rory but like as been said unless Rory falls off a cliff he surely will be no2.October 25, 2021 at 3:04 pm #216452Keenan turan’s car was parked next to me yesterday so looks like he is back at the club or injured, unfortunately for him I can’t see ever pulling on a Scunthorpe shirt again and not sure how he has done at Stockport.
Are we really paying him enough to have a car? Who signed that deal?
