Iron Bru › Forums › Blast Furnace › The Whartons versus Swann
To see the Iron relegated or go under would tarnish the chairman’s reputation throughout football – which is of relatively little importance, I suppose.
But I am sure that he would not want to see the Swann name vilified beyond football and into the business sphere which would be an inevitable consequence.
People who wreck community assets can quickly become pariahs – even in what can sometimes be a shark-eat-shark world.
By whatever means possible, he now has to attempt to resolve this mess – and very quickly. I would imagine that his entire credibility is now at stake.

I’m hoping this is true.
Sadly, he has shown previous form for not giving a flying feck.
I think that’s very plausible les. Regardless of the justifiable lack of trust and the broken promises there is businessman credibility at stake here. It’s whether he can change how he conducts his business going forward that could trip him up. It’s a seismic shift required
He could turn the business around and still not give a flying feck about the supporters Alcy.
So Swann says he can’t attend matches due to prior business appointments. WHAT A LOAD OF RUBBISH! He knows the fixture list well in advance the same as the fans. Steve Wharton was a business man, Whartons Shipping. So how come he managed to fit in all the fixtures, home and away, whilst running his huge business, but Swann can hardly be bothered to attend any. HES PURE AND SIMPLY LOST INTEREST IN OUR CLUB. SWANN, SWANN GET YOURSELF GONE. That should be the chant at our next match.
